Default Who has GP Tech clipons?

I tried to install these today. The instructions say to torque the two M5 bolts in three steps to 10 ft.lb. I thought that seemed high for such a little bolt but I went ahead and followed the instructions using my torque wrench. Sure enough I snapped one of those bolts. The big bolt that goes through the bar is only torqued to 15 ft.lbs so again it seems high for these two small bolts.

Guess I'm off to lowes, what are the chances they are going to have this bolt....

the only way to accurately torque a bolt to a spec that low is with an inch pound torque wrench...

I used an inch pound torque wrench.. I try to always use torque wrenches if a spec is given (I have over tightening syndrome )

Anyway, going to Home Depot and Lowes was an exercise in "are you F**k'n kidding me"!! Lowes didn't have the bolt in stainless, and Home Depot had stainless bolts but not in metric!!!

It's a M5 x .08 x 16mm stainless steel flat head allen bolt. I think that .08 should read .8 (obviously wouldn't be the first typo in these instructions)

i have some man

snug them you don't need a torque wrench for stuff like that

I use a little "L" allen key by hand on them on my woodcrafts and they are fine
