Default Sp1 clutch fiber disk vs sp2

Hello, can anyone tell me if the sp2 fiber clutch discs are fairly smaller than then sp1 and does the sp2 use 8 discs vs the sp1 7 discs ?

Anyone confirm ?

Reason i ask i because some dealer sent me a wrong set once, and im trying to figure out what the wrong kit fits, its not the superhawk as it uses more discs than 8, and its to small for the sp1 + one more disc.

To completely overhaul the clutch you'll need the following parts:

7 (seven) friction plates, Honda code 22321-MAT-000, Barnett code 301-45-10008 on an SP2, one less plate on an SP1
6 (six) metal plates, Honda code 22201-MAT-000, Barnett code 401-35-078027
6 (six) springs, Honda code 22401-MCF-000 OR 1 (one) Barnett spring kit MT-96-6

You may also need a clutch cover gasket (quite pricey at around 17 €), Honda code 11356-MCF-000.

I got a great deal on a full Barnett kit on ebay from a Scottish dealer, PM if you are interested.

Friction plates are the same as used (from memory) on the Goldwing 1800, Blackbird, VTX1800 cruiser and CB1300 retro. These particular metal plates are used only on the SP, Blackbird and CB1300.

The SP1 and SP2 both use 7 fiber's and 6 steel disk's. The SP1 has 5 inner fibers (same as SP2) and a different material (Honda disk A) fiber for the outer and inner most friction disks. The SP2's outer most disk is the same as the SP1 (A) but the inner most is different yet again (disk B) to allow for the sp2 only judder spring.
