Question SP-2 whls/discs onto SP-1, same axles/spacers and cush etc. ok?

My rear tire got a puncture so I'm gonna use it as an excuse to mount up some SP-2 wheels+discs, HH pads, and new chain+sprockets on a '00 SP-1.

The SP-2 wheels are complete with SP-2 discs and bearings, I also have the SP-2 cush drive rubbers/sprocket carrier and SP-2 front axle but no spare axle for the rear. If it matters the front wheel is from an '03, the rear is '04, and I have the SP-2 F+R calipers as well.

Simple is good, and the less stuff I swap the better unless there is a fitment reason.

TIA!

it will all transfer directly across except the sp2 rear brake caliper bracket. that changed with the swingarm.

Excellent! I am safe to assume that I can use the SP-1's current calipers on the SP-2 wheels+discs? They seem to work fine and I like having spares.

Or is there a good reason I should use the SP-2 front calipers other than a tiny weight savings? The rears look to be the same.

Thanks for the quick reply.

calipers interchange... the only thing to worry about is the caliper brackets on the forks... sp1 brackets have to be on sp1 forks, just as sp2 brackets have to be on sp2 forks. but sp2 calipers bolt right onto sp1 brackets, and vice versa...

make sense?

as far as the rear goes i believe the only difference was in the caliper bracket, due to the change in the swingarm.

in other words your sp1 rear caliper setup will work with an sp2 wheel. but if you do an sp2 swingarm you'll have to change to an sp2 caliper bracket.

for what you're doing everything should just transfer straight over without issue.
