Question Coolant Overflow Level ?

Been getting some coolant spatter on my left side exhaust. Checked all connections and traced leakage to overflow bottle. I filled overflow to upper level while bike is straight up. When on side stand, level is very high which makes me wonder when hard cornering if its coming out cap. When you fill overflow, is bike supposed to be on sidestand?

Ran bike thru a couple fan cycles and could not simulate a leak. Drained enough coolant so while on sidestand, level is between lines on reservoir. Hopefully, this cures it. I did a search and RTFM but found no answers.

Check level when cold on a race stand i.e. perpendicular. Should be at lower level.

I highly doubt that you're losing coolant out the cap unless of course the cap is faulty.

Had a very similar problem during a Summer track day a couple of years ago: coolant splattered all over the side of the bike.
The fix was a new overflow container cap.
Hope this helped you out.

Question Another Question

Ordered a new overflow cap-hopefully thats the cure. Another question-while still warm but shut off and cooling, overflow reservoir is at the upper mark but level in radiator is down about 1/2" from neck. I cant spot a leak-is this normal?

Check your coolant hoses,All of them. They will vibrate loose.
