Default My HYPER Plates!...?

Hey Guys...

I just had my clutch package opened up this weekend, since I installed my "Factory Shift kit"
and I came across this....
What should I do,.. Reuse, Buy New, Junk and install OEMs...?
Funny thing about these lines is, they are on 1 side of the plates only, weird.. as I have never seen anything like this before...

Also, You will see the last picture I've got a Fiber coming lose!.. there is couple others that have it too, just not as bad as this one...
FWIW,.. these have just 4,000 miles on them since I've installed! Now, after saying that.... I know what I am going to do now, Thanks peps!

Hmmm Thanks, Plus I wanted to share..

Peace

Well, you know my answer.

Seriously, I'm sure you could put them back in and be totally fine. The plates don't look like they've gotten hot or anything.

LOL Yeah man,... and I don't blame you one bit!

Yeah, I was thinking the samething,.. Over all, Very clean with no signs of Over Heating or anything like that,... I just thought it funky, how each one had a wear line in it, on just one side like they do... and with ONLY 4000miles...

I "wet lapped them" on a stone with 1800 grit, nice and smooth and reinstalled them with NEW Fibers!
I have never had or seen any of my clutches in any of my MCs... have the "Fibers" coming off like 2 or 3 of these plates did... You ever seen that before?

Thanks Chuck

Peace Jeff

when i took my clutch apart at 45000kms of HARD USE the fibers looked brand new as did the steels... i replaced them all anyway as i bought new stuff expecting more wear. i can't really explain your delamination problems...

Hey Jeff,

From my experience (and somethign I once posted about) with the dleaminating or soft and pliable fibers they continued to work just fine. Given that your's has actually lifted replacement is obviously a good bet. Mine were soft to the point where I could pick at it with my fingernail and would have been able to mar then if I continued, and from what I gathered, I just reassembled and they functioned as they always had. Granted I have yet to crack the case again to look, but She felt as smooth and ridable as always.

The "lines" you describe, are they a grove or is it all flush with the rest of the surface? If it's flush then it might just have been a crest along the surface when they were new and now are worn and as a result showing. did the coresponding fiber plate have any aborations?
