Peace Jeff

PS. If you need a part#/Order# from Advance Auto,... I'll hook you up when I get home.
yes, that's what I'm talking about. all of the NGK plugs for the RVT (on that year) are IFR8H-11 and they have the tip built in so the bootcoil doesn't fit.

what kind of sparkplugs are you getting?

a part number will be great.

NGK told me that I could use the BPR8EIX but that I had to check if the tool will fit into the tunnel to install it and remove it due to the size of the body of the sparkplug.

once i get home i'll let you all know by tomorrow.

i should have the sparkplug in stock.

so after 9am, i'm going to call NGK directly and find out if they can make me a sparkplug with the same specs of the RC51 set but with the screw in top for the new coils. they've done that kind of work for me in the pass for my CBR1000RR high compresion motor but they cost some $$$.
Metal... IF you talk w/ NGK & they can do it... do you think they could make me some "gapless" surface plugs?? Since my RC is wayy past the "Straight Crackhead diet" & now on the Steroid diet... I would not mind a few more ponies. As long as Peak Voltage is the same.. your mod would be super easy & I am down for it.. I talked with Brisk USA months ago when I was getting all my motor mods together & they were vague at best. I know NGK has "gapless" / surface technology... anyway man.. good job on the line coils...

Cheers!

I also checked when I got the wrecked 07 CBR600RR in and the coils fit but my plug tops don't unscrew either. You could always turn the end down and run a die over it to cut threads to the size of the CBR600RR plug ends. I will have an extra set of 07 CBR600RR coils with the factory wiring harness that I'm going to make a kit out of if anyone would be interested in a custom kit, let me know.

Hey MetalS,

I've PM'd you Sir and to you and everyone else here, I'm sorry I screw'd up thinking about these spark plugs when I actually was thinking about My VF1000R spark plugs...

So after checking both the standard temp. plug: IFR9H11 (9) and the 1 heat range hottter plug, the: IFR8H11 (8)... it IS in Fact as metalscorpio says,...
These RC51 "at least for the SP2" are 1 piece, the tops they do NOT screw on and or off, my bad, sorry boys and girl.

Peace Jeff

When you're done Scott, will the wiring be Okay for the street, ie... headlights, brake, blinkers..?

Depending upon $s, I could be interested.. FWIW, I don't know IF that part of the wiring harness matters or not but
I have done and I am running the small batt. mod.....
PM me a price.

TIA,

Peace Jeff

I will have the 2 coil plugs with the factory plugs and extended wire so you can either cut the plug off of the old coil or the stock wiring harness and solder and shrink tube the new wire in place so you can unplug the harness from the coil plugs. This will be just like it is stock on the CBR1000RR which will allow you to disconnect the wire from the coil for easier removal.

It's not a very good pic but here is the stock RC51 plug that I just turnd down and threaded to the same size as the stock CBR plug so I'm going to make the wiring harness now.

Well I finished the bike and it seems to start a little easier, I will have to check to see if the new coil sticks have a higher output. I took the factory wiring harness and coil from a new CBR and cut the factory plug off of the stock RC51 coil and extended the wire by soldering a longer section in, shrink tubed it and wrapped it with electrical tape just like the stock CBR harness was.

very nice. Now you see what I was talking about.

I checked the voltage between the two coils and they are about the same so they should work perfect.

if you have a set of them already done I'll be more then glad to take that from you and test them (buy them from you), the bike is getting bodywork right now and i'll be on my way to Florida on the 23rd of this month.
