Question Molten dash faceplate on a 03

I have a 03 coming and it's got a melted dash. Was this an actual service bulletin that Honda is aware of and what if any, their repair/replace policy? I know I can cover it up, but if they'll replace the cover, I’ll take that... Let me know if you know...
Thanks, Mark

There was never a formal recall. Your ability to have it replaced will be based on whatever relationship you have with your local dealer......

MRGRN sells a inexpensive (wnen compared to the Magical cover) dash cover plate that's pretty nice....

In 2004 they added an aluminum dash trim to the RC51 to solve the problem.

Well crap on a stick. It's either cover-up or replace at my expense then. RAyers has a new face plate for $60 - a whole speedo for $400. MRGRN may be my best bet - we'll see how much it bugs me when it gets here... Thanks for the input, it's appreciated...

Magical racing's wraps around the speedo face. MRGRN's just covers the front facia. FOr what Mark (MRGRN) charges, it's a good bang for the buck.

Same thing happened to my 02. Dealer referred me to Honda. They wouldn't replace the speedo or even give me an 04 cover plate as the bike was already 4 years old at the time.

I'm prolly just going to get the new cover from Ron Ayers ($60). I went to our local Honda/Power Motorsports and I sh*t you not, there must have been 15 salesmen on the lot. I hate being preyed upon. As my avoidance tactic, I made a beeline to the parts counter - $93 for the same part! It won't be long until those salesmen start eating themselves for food...

You want the dash kit that comes with the aluminum covers unless your getting after market carbon dash covers. If you don't the dash will crack again. I can get you the parts faster and for the same price or less then Ron Ayers.
