Default Has anyone ever seen underbike exhaust on an RC51?

I'm curious if anyone out there makes a good underbike system. The weight savings would probably be substatial, and the weight would be lower which would help handling.

I'm thinking of something like this.

I've seen people do it, but it's always crappy custom fabbed stuff with absolutely no sound muffling devices, so it sounds like ass. It'd be neat to have one pipe coming out each side, as long as there was no real compromise in sound.

Time to get crafty with some glass pack muffler

The reason we don't see systems like this for our bikes is because there is no room under there to fit it.

You might be able to adapt something off a Gixxer for that.

Why not just call Thorsten and buy one? Seems a little easier and less painful to me.

There's so little space behind the sump , below the linkage, in front of the rear tyre and inside the fairing (panels ) , that it is even hard to connect both headers .
Why people ask questions like this without having a closer look before .

Absolutely amazing work of engineering on that 1098 Thorsten.

Is that an ex-works Ohlins and billet Brembos front end there?
