First off welcome to the board. I didn't chime in earlier cause I thought it was some other voices ...I keep hearing RED RUM RED RUM

KIdding aside?? Good thread

I heard it plenty and for the most part don't remember after the ride cause it turned out to be a voax or un-true even if it did affected me during the ride. One can say that since it did affect my riding then IT has alter the ending or conclusion but my last crash a few months ago was a case in point.

RE CAP my experience.

The whole day was talking about crashes..mainly ME going to crash. The whole day I had the feeling and an hour before I crashed? I was NOT myself or 100%. Knew it somehow and looked everywhere for my knee pads cause I was going to ride 2 miles up and back to Starbucks..wasn't planning to ride anywhere. Couldn't find the knee pads ..now I have two bummed knee instead of only one Yesterday was the first time I rode without FULL gear cause my gurl didn't have 100% full gear either so I thought I would share whatever was coming to us. This morning we are doing a 300 mile round trip with 100% full gear. I will try my best to not ride without FULL gear from now on

everytime i get on my bike- i hear the voice say
"is today the day you die?"

i always answer " Hell, no."

it reminds me of the friends who have gone down- i'm sure they didn't get on their bikes knowing it would be their last ride.

respecting the power is important.

I have def heard the voice..not much of a voice but an inner feeling...
Everytime I ride against it, I am uneasy and make rookie mistakes..Most prob cause I am nervous about the feeling.
.
Only had the voice/bad feeling once while racing...took it easy and got 1st place while the first and 2nd postion guys took each other out..Could have been a coincidence..
.
but you can talk to any racer, novice or expert..and they will tell you that they all believe in some kind of superstition.

I heard "the voice" last Halloween as well. Should hae know something was off ... there was freakishly warm weather that day (75 degrees in MD) and way too many riders showed up for the ride.

Needless to say, I didn't heed the warning signs and went out anyway. Not 10 minutes into the ride a rider went down and his wayward bike sliding across the rode took me out.

Well I guess in some way the voice or feeling what ever you wish to call it has affected us all or at least maybe some one we know. I suppose there may be some truth to the fact if you think about it you will mess up and make rookie mistakes, yet on the other hand it could also make you take a step back and realize maybe something could happen. I am just glad to hear I am not the only one who has dealt with or is dealing with this feeling or voice. I appreciate the feed back. I mostly just read what you all put on the boards and dont reply much because you all seem pretty knowledgable on the page. Thanks for all the help in the other threads too. Ride safe and at least hear what the voice has to offer even if you dont listen fully.

Damn, that was the voice I DIDN'T HEAR! I lowsided in a puddle of oil on Patuxent River Road just past Rte 214 in MD last Halloween leading a group through the twisties. It was a beautiful day. Full Vansons made it feel like falling out bed. No injuries. I picked up my scuffed up RC51 and we called police to make a report on the oil all over the road. While we were waiting for the cop when we waved down a rider on an MV Brutale, two up, with a female wearing no gear. Saved their butts.

As far as the "voice", I had a buddy named Chuck who heard it. We were on a ride together and stopped for a break. He says, "I got a bad feeling, man." I just looked at him and told him, "pack it in, man." He did. And sold his RC about a month later.

That is where I have to draw the line. Sell the RC??? No chance, that would be the limit of the voice I would have to tell it to go straight to hell. The once in a while hey you dont need to be riding today is fine however Sell. Not even and option. I hear the voice comes out more when there is a full moon too? could be just a rumor though.

"They" say that we've all got 3 guardian angels watching over us. I think I'm making mine work too hard. I've heard "the voice" before, and once had a "vision" that there was a truck coming at me on a two lane road up ahead. When I got there, there was no truck, but there WAS a bad place in the road that would have made me wreck if I hadn't slowed down.

I had a couple of those moments but the one that I can remember to this very day was riding by myself in Yosemite back country ( I call it God's country and most will agree if they rode thru there ) hiting some sweet smooth repeating sets of twisties when "the voice" poped in my head after 6 or so repeating sets of smooth clean and clear right handers then a left with a short straight to connect to the next sets. For some weird reason I back off the throttle and the next right hander was awesome cause the road in front of me had disappear of the face of the earth,a super roller coaster dive down what seem to be a two flight of stairs in about the same amount of distant in one flight. Needless to say I was so happy to have spot what could have been a bad area had I NOT back off the gas <--------One hand up, ala broncing cowboy style down the hill while screaming as loud as I can inside my helmet. YEEEEEEEEEEEHaaaaaaaaaaaWWw

A couple on the bottom of this short hill looked up and gave a wave while I smoothly with a Kool "yeah baby, that's how Tai does it!" Pimpleous style

True story...scouts honor no really

i've heard the voice . . .

when it speaks to me about the RC, it says:

"if you ride it, you will come." (<-- then i try to think about baseball for a while)

when it speaks to me about the SV, it says:

"if you ride it, you will smile."

actually, i've heard it when i've been gearing up. but it's usually a 2nd thought about my gear choice - like summer jacket vs. leather jacket (when it's hotter than hell) or when i'm not sure if i want to run back upstairs for my back protector.

Yep, Ive heard it a few times. Even the odd dream.

Was suiting up to go out(be4 my RC) on my kz550. Had a few friends here, was about to put my helmet on, and something just told me to STOP.... dont ride... just stay home. Was a REALLY eerie feeling. Tried to talk my friends out of hitting our usualy route, and they werent havin it. Good thing I stayed home.... all 3 of em lowsided on spilled diesel on the road.

The day I picked up my RC, I had the choice to wait about an hour for the service department to put in my frame sliders, and pick up my leathers. Keeping in mind that if I had waited, we wouldve had to have ridden straight home, due to my friends GF needing to get to a Dr.s appointement... Or take the bike for a spin in my textile gear, and no sliders till i get back. Had a feeling again...NOOO DONT DO IT...just wait. Well, I shouldve waited. 3mi down the road, they had grated the road surface, and I hit one of the 4in high manholes. It bent the wheel enough to de-bead the wheel, and it tossed me over the bars at 50. Broke my right arm, shredded 40% of the left side of my body, BAD concussion, & broke 2 teeth from the impact jamming my jaw closed. Woofed the tank, right side fairing, upper fairing, windscreen, highbeam hdlt, front tire and wheel, and LF rotor, the seat, both cans, bent the stock headpipe...but not a single mark on the engine, frame, swingarm, sub frame, real wheel, and tail fairing. Guess I got lucky on those last parts being unscathed.

Dammm that's crazy.

Well LAST NIGHT I heard the "voice" again and thought to myself..hmmmmm, maybe cause we have been talking about "it" lately so I'm just paranoid.

Got home from my little jog, showered, and suit up for a short ride when right before I got to the front door I heard it. Made me think about it and I thought to myself, hmmmmm..maybe I should just jump in my truck for a spin instead.

Naaa, I rather ride, I'll just be more careful. Well I was very careful. No shenanigans(sp?) til on the way home, for a split of a second I was out of focus and wasn't on my game when "BAMMMM" something hit my front tires then my left side fairings then my left leg. Happied that it wasn't worst I continue home a few more miles to go. Came to a turning light that was about to turn yellow so I came in one swoop but but somethings NOT right with the RC She's a bit heavier to steer and she moving kind of funny

Double check by swerving a bit...oh yeah something ain't right. First thought was the front tires since it took more effort to steer but with only a few lights to go before sanctuary the rear tire went FLAT. Only a mile to go. I pull over to the side to eval my situation, while I started this action ,I notice a BMW on the otherside of the road slowing down. NO it can't be. Sure was. My riding buddy on his way home from a bootty call I imagine stop by. How's that for luck??

Well, I said I'll just lean the bike next to a tree and he'll give me a ride home to grab my truck...BUT wait. PeterMai has my ramp so we option for a ramp from another buddy up the street.

Heck I said. Forgettaboutit. I'll just baby her up there. Park it. Take care of it manana. Called made. Full steam ahead. RC was trying to used the whole road so I keep my stomach on the tank and lightly on the gas. I was so focus I had passed the right turn to get to the house. With my bud behind me I stop to say I'll turn her around and meet him at the house , right when he pull off to make a U-turn. Guess who show up?? Oh yes, the man in all his glory.

Lights at full blast. Question of "are you the register owner?" like if a thief would be stupid enough to say "NO" I'm stealing this bike He pulled out his light sabre and swang it in the direction where my plate should be..opps Tai didn't install that one yet . Started playing the violin but he wasn't having any of it. Registration in hand along with my M1 endorsement mug shot and a little bit of preaching..my buddy call it "being a DICK" and threats of expensive fix-it tickets along with yanking my M1 endorsement because a motorcycles is supposed to be ridden not pushed With a warning I was off on my way ...

ahhhh the "voice" stuck again

That could be the worst luck I have ever heard any one person having. I was out for a quick jaunt round the german country side yesterday when I didnt hear the voice but I had that wierd feeling in the old gut that said on the next hard right hander you might just ease up a bit. So I did and mid turn about 65 rocks across the road ass end slid out then grabbed again just as if to say it could have been your time. So I took it as it wasnt and rode another hour.

Haven't heard the voice... But... I.... see..... dead.... people

Okay... kidding aside. I once went riding. And it felt wrong from the start. I was not hitting the lines right in the canyons, the bike felt weird, and my friend was being an idiot on the road doing wheelies. We were almost caught by a CHP Bike in the canyons - only reason he did not ticket anyone was because he was on the way to his wife in the hospital.

Like four miles later, heading up to Mile High Cafe, I am in a Right turn at about 50 mph or so... and kept thinking and wondering about crashing and surviving - right out of the blue. Next, a racoon runs out - right under the front wheel. She tucks, I spill and buh bye RC #1. If you can't shake the feel of dread or reconcile it, don't ride. It can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The voice telling me that today isn't my day to ride is something I always listen too...

But nothing scares me like the voice screaming "OH SHIT THAT WAS YOUR LAST BRAKE MARKER!"
