Default Time for a rebuild

Sadly, I wrecked my RC the other day. The flip side of that is that I now have no excuse not to do quite a bit of work to it. The left side of it is pretty well rashed. The front fairing broke along with most of the parts underneath it, the tank is heavily dented, the side got rashed and cracked (thanks to my frame sliders for saving the expensive parts), the clutch lever and handle bar are bent badly, the stock pipes are even uglier, and the tail cracked.

From looking around on the web the last few days, I have pretty much decided on what I'm going to do. I want to replace the fairings with the HRC setup. I like the idea of just cutting out holes for the signals and some projector lamps. I might as well go ahead and cut the subframe in half in order to fit one of the cbr tails to it. I really like how minimal those are, and they give the bike a really nice look. I plan on doing the paint myself, it'll be simple, but I haven't decided on colors yet.

For the handle bars, I'm leaning towards the set from vortec, as they are affordable. I have CRG levers on it right now, and I like them alot, but I think I'll switch to the ASV shorties.

I need to replace the tank as well, I don't think that there is a shop that can take the dents out of it. They're numerous and huge. I know I can find OEM tanks, but I'm leaning towards the setup from ETI. I'm referring to the larger one. Increased capacity and lower weight. I like everything about it but the price.

For the exhaust, I like the look of the setup from Durbahn, with the the pair of pipes hanging off the right side. I like the style, but again, not the price. Does any one know of any builder here in Southern California that could build this? Or even something cooler, like the single, banzai mount, left side pipe that was on the AMA bikes?

I would appreciate any suggestions and or tips that apply.

Default Dented Tank

I do know of a place that might be able to take those dents out. I have not had any work done there yet but I did get some things quoted. They wanted $140 to get the tank back to normal-ish and ready for paint. The name is EmpireGP.com - Motorcycle Plastic Welding, Gas Tank Repair, Custom Painting, Race Replicas I just took pics of the damage and emailed them over for a quote. Might be worth a try... Good Luck

I have used them in the past. Very good at repairing tanks and plastics. Their painting abilities are ok, not great, not complete crap either. If it were me I would have them repair and get painted locally.

I'll email them tomorrow, but I'd be amazed if they can do it... and for a decent price. Those pictures don't quite do the dents justice.
