I didn't know
Andy Zorn personally but he is a former RC51 owner from Houston who recently died from Leukemia. Andy owned a 954 and a RC51 that the family has no use for so a close friend of Andy's has offered to get the bikes ready for sale and give the proceeds to the family to help with their expenses. According to Andy's friend the 954 is about ready but the RC51 still needs some major work.
I found out about the effort from a Houston message board,
MotoHouston.com.
Acoording to the friend the following parts are still needed and its a 2003 RC51 (i haven't seen the bike yet):
Plastics, everything but the front fender
Mirrors
Windscreen
Taillight
Rear brake line
Exhaust
Exhaust gaskets between midpipe and header
Rear sets, shifters, brake lever and pegs
The bike is going to be painted so I'm supplying all the OEM vinyl and potentially the gas tank if the current tank is in worse shape. I need to dig through my spares box for the other items but I know I have a spare taillight.
If anyone has any spares they would like to donate (or sell) to the effort please contact me directly at gordon(dot)salisbury(at)gmail(dot)com
The family has a PayPal account set up to accept monetary donations as well towards this effort if you don't have any parts to spare:
