I grew up off Hwy 61 maybe 10 miles from that incident. Must be something about that stretch of road because 20 years ago I would drive my 78 Trans Am home from a night out with friends going maybe 170 with a hand over one eye (or maybe it was 120,..naaah, I'm pretty sure it was 170). Never got caught though .

So what ever happened with this case??? Did the ticket stand? Was it thrown out? Reduced?

IIRC it never went to trial - the kid bargained his
way out of it, with some moderate punishment.
