Default Disabled Flapper Valve?

Hello all experienced fellow Honda SP1/RC51 lovers (2001 model) - mine has a plug on the flapper valve, does that stop it affecting the performance? Or do I have to remove the little flap as well? I tried to move it with a screwdriver and it definately wont move disabled, these SP1's are rare in Australia so maybe someone in the future wants a flapper valve...... Secondary question, what do fellow users think of the Power Commander Maps that are free on the website? Is it worth the extra $$$ for 1 HP or do custom maps rule?

Look here: ROGUE RC51 Flapper Valve Mod Page

It should answer your questions. Your bike has the flapper disabled, but the entire system is still on the bike.

The second instructions describe how to remove the entire system.
good luck.

The "Flapper Valve" itself... doesn't matter it is the "Hose going back through the front of the MC that NEEDs to be blocked Off.. You can do it right at the valve OR Remove ALL of the hose and just cap it Off at the front of the Throttle Body like I\alot of us have done!

I Hope this helps,

Peace

Default Thankyou - PC3 USB Maps - Web VS Custom?

Thanks, the hose going back has been blocked off and the flapper valve has a little rubber plug, the flapper definately does not move. Since these are such a classic & rare bike I think I will keep everything there rather than remove it completely, it seems to run wild anyway. I have the PC3 USB map off the powercommander website M105-716 - have any of you guys tried the maps on there VS getting a custom map? Is a custom map that much better? In my area in Brisbane, Australia the authorised Powercommander Dyno tuning centers want $400 for a custom map..... Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

I just removed the flapper itself and left everything else there, and hooked up.
After you unclip the flapper from the valve, you can use a magnet to slide the pin out.

Thanks, I think the colour is really good too. I actually took it to get a couple of coats of clear to keep the decals/stickers locked in because I keep it super clean all the time to my paint & panel place who did my 1971 V8 Monaro Coupe - he checked it out and basically said all of the panels did not match - so he re-painted the whole bike and paid for all new decals/stickers all for $550 Aussie dollars.... I was blown away when I picked it up, ****ing awesome. Anyone & everyone who sees it is now commenting how amazing it looks (let alone that amazing SP1/RC51 V-Twin sound). Cheers, I am new to this site so just thought I would say thanks mate! (to his perfection anyway)
