Default anyone use a superchips tuner for a truck before?

I have had mine sitting in a box for one year (bday present) and almost sold it as the friggen company didn't have my trucks specs yet for tuning. Well I thought I would give her one more try before dropping in on C-list or ebay and BAM! Cortex came through with all the data for my truck (larger tires, Nismo headers and Borla exhaust, K&N intake system, throttle body spacer).

It allows for fine tuning based on fuel octane used, towing, sport modes with or with out gas savings, rev limiter raised, speed limited delete and WOT delete.

After a 15 minute advanced tune I get the message stating the ECU is reprogrammed and OEM data saved to the cortex unit ( ).

So if I ever wanted to sell the cortex I could and I still have the benefit of the ECU being programmed for the set-up from here on out! Cool stuff man!

A 15 minute test drive proved to be fricken exhilarating to say the least! Shift points are just above the red line and the truck is going 85mph before shifting into 3rd gear! If you have a small truck like my v-6 Nissan I would highly recommend this inexpensive upgrade.

Flame on about the engine wear dangerous if need be but I am religious about my fluid maintenance and only use the best.

WTF are you talking about ?! Just kidding . Yeah , a friend of mine reprogrammed his bone stock Ford diesel last summer and the difference was astonishing . That thing became a muscle car , smoking the tires , drifting , with at least an extra 70 HP and 100 ft. lbs. of torque .

hptuners is much more versatile, but you have to be careful with it cause you can change literally almost every parameter that resides in the pcm.

The programmer has your stock ECU tune on it now, which means if you wanted to sell it,you'd have to "swap" programs back to have the aftermarket tune back on the programmer, and your stock program back in your truck. Many of the programmers also are unique to the ECU they are originally tuned with, meaning it's not able to be used on a different truck after you've used it on yours. Those guys have to do something to prevent people from buying one programmer amongst a group, then passing it around.I don't really agree with the concept of asigning it to the original truck,as I think you should be able to sell it if you wanted.

We install quite a few of these, and they do make a small difference on gas trucks, but it's unreal what they do to diesel vehicles!

I just read that, Aparently this thing will stay with the truck!

It's funny that it doesn't work like a PpwerCommander in that it needs to remain connected.

I tuned a 2005 GMC 2500HD 6.0L with it and it was well worth the $$. Great upgrade, better mileage, no speed limit and hard shifts.

I've got one in my 6.7 cummins Dodge. So far I really like it. Better power, better mileage, better shifting and no smoke which I really like. One word of caution though, I've read (no first hand knowledge) that on the extreme tune it can burn up the transmission if you tow anything big. I always load the towing tune before I haul my 28 foot travel trailer just in case. Two seasons and no transmission problems (knock on wood).

the frontier purrs like the v4 does now that the temp cooled down a bit! Earlier this year the jetting on the nc35 was blowing a 2 foot blue green (beautiful) flame out the CF can.

shot is minty now!
