I have had my RC for several years but I have really had so little time to ride it. It was usually so long between rides that I felt like I had to learn it all over again each ride. Or if I rode it several days in a row it would just be short trips around town. I have never really felt 100% confident on it.
With the weather getting warmer and school ending in May I have been trying to get the RC “right” for me. In the last few weeks I have done a bunch of little fine tuning. I added a 3 mm shim under the shock which really did help it turn in. I also lowered the clip-ons and adjusted the angle to get then just right for me. My CRG levers got adjusted to the perfect position after a little experimentation. The fuel map needed a little messing with to get rid of some trailing throttle jerkiness. But most importantly I paid the guys at Marietta Motor the set up the suspension for my weight. It was only a few turns on the adjustments and a little measuring but it made a huge difference. The front-end and rear-end are finally working together rather than fighting each other. This was the best $37 dollars I ever spent on the bike. I found a nice 40 mile loop of country roads and have had her out on it about 4 times in the last two weeks.
All the little stuff as well as a little saddle time has really made a huge difference. On today’s ride I was almost to the edge of the tire which is a first for my slow ass.

But mostly my confidence and enjoyment level is 100% better. I can’t stress what a difference all these little changes in ergonomics and fine tuning made to improve my confidence and comfort with the bike. I just wanted to encourage you guys to take a little time and fine tune things as well. I will pay off in a big way.
