a couple of sponsors here, like scott (CBR400RR), have online stores that sell them: lights and accessories
If you ride at night a lot and don't want to blind the fukk out of everybody on the road, I recommend you to do a proper projector swap like the one stated above. The general consensus about Hid kits, is that they are (usually) crap. This is usually in reference to the ones sold on ebay, and most places on the internet. "You get what you pay for" definitely applies here. And since you are merely sticking an HID bulb into a reflector that was never designed to have one, and the filament is rarely in the right place, you are going to have glare, and lots of it. Good for getting attention during the day, better at blinding oncoming traffic at night.

I don't know why you are saying this, it certainly was not my experience. The HID's slid in perfectly and have a great cut off. Check the install and night pics in my post from some time ago. It's a great mod. and weell worth doing.

the problem is that most who install hid bulbs will never admit the fact that their setups do have copious amounts of glare, which is mot only annoying to others that share the road with you at night, but it is also dangerous. You may get joy in the fact that you are blinding oncoming traffic, but I would rather not distract them any more than they usually are with cell phones and iPods and screaming kids and stereos. One other thing worthy of mentioning, is that depending on what state you live in, most hid kits are illegal. Whereas, again depending on where you live, putting an OEM (and already DOT approved) setup into another vehicle is usually legal.
Here are a few of your pics from your write up:
The glare that I am talking about is that white patch on the wall that is above your cutoff. If you look at any projector, they have a proper cutoff and absolutely no glare above it. Here is a shot of a Honda S2000 projector for demonstration:
I'm not trying to be rude in any way. All of this is of course, just my
Just went out the back and had another look at the light on the bike and I agree with you, the cutoff is not crisp and there is leakage/glare.
I'll check out the projector posts and see what's possible.
Thanks for postig the images.

Even projectors are illegal in the us,if they dont have the required auto leveling system. And if they dont they are only approved for the vehicle they were installed in.
