Default RC51 tail parts schematic

Need rear seat cowl. Mine only came with the passenger seat.

Ok, here is what Honda shows for our tail section parts.

I'm thinking I only need to purchase #17 and #13 to make it work. The screws are 6 bucks a piece, so I will just get those at the hardware store and #14 (rubber seal) is 23 bucks, so I will make that too.

My question is this: Do you think I only "really" need #17 and #13?

I want to be able to switch quickly from cowl to seat for the wife.

#17 & #13 come out to $106.98 at Honda. But if you buy all the correct parts, it is more like $151.11

Thanks,
Craig

Yeah, I've done all the searching and nobody has the color I need (for less than OEM new) and the other colors will have to be painted which will run up the cost... Most recent post wants 125!!!

#17 is the painted body panel. Ya kinda need that part or it wont work.

Thanks guys for the help.

Now that I think about it, maybe 23 bucks was for #29 and #14 was less. If that's the case, I will get that piece too.

All the Best,
Craig

FWIW.... search around on the online parts vendors, the prices vary by a few % from one to another. The cheapest I have found for Honda parts is Service Honda, but other brands are a different story.

I've seen the seat cover/cowl for as low as $42, but don't remember what store that was.

Good luck bro.

lol, you can please some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time... Your right, it is more complex. More money, time, tires, better video equipment and lots of editing.

Yeah, taking nothing away from Ken, he is a sick driver and that video is awesome!!!. I wish I had that kind of funding to do a Gymkhana practice video. I would like to see that all in one take though, but it was edited every few seconds, so we don't really see how many takes each station took to get a full video.

The Crawford cars are very fast. I've driven them a few times before in Time Attacks.

Here is a pic of one I drove in a NASA event at Willow Springs '07. I took second place to qualify for the Super Street annual Time Attack:

Dude, I don't want to sound like a dick, but where did you get those parts from? Those prices are a little high.

You can save a few bucks if you use mrcycles.com or ronayers.com

At MRCYCLES, the prices are $43.41 for the box, $37.51 for the painted panel, and $4.12 for the seal thingy.

Probably wouldn't have saved you a bunch of money this time, but if you are ever going to buy more pricey OEM stuff, it will save you quite a bit. I know when I rebuilt my R1, I saved a few hundred on plastics.

Wow, that's weird. I've found that both those sites are the most expensive ones. Maybe they have some sort of pricing matrix that affects the pricing.

Those prices are from Honda. No discount. Yeah, I should have gone through MrCycles or someting like that. I wont be buying any "big ticket" oem parts from the dealer. With this purchase it was not a big deal, but if I ever need something expensive, going through a place like MrCycles is going to save a grip of cash.

I appreciate the heads up everyone is giving me.

Thanks,
Craig
