Default 1st td excitment

I just signed up for my first trackday with TPM for sept 23 at beaverun. Was wondering if anyone here might be doing this day also as any help with getting me thru this first day would be greatly app. Tho Im sure once I get there Ill be able to figure out where I should go and such. Being that Ive never done this before I guess I may be just a little nervous.(but still very excited cant wait)

Dude its like having sex for the first time. Your nervous as hell and will do it anyway. And once you have done it, you will do it every chance you get. Congrats and have some fun

I love how she applies it to sex lol ( very true )

The best advice i have for you since is your first trackday is to get there early ( like 7:00am) and ask questions.. look for guys with red or blue stickers ( riding group ) on the front of their bikes and ask them where Tech inspections can be found.

Or you just follow the crowd. I only have been to 3 track days ( my 4th is next week ) with TPM and they are very clear in their meetings and use a speaker phone when making all the announcements.

You will be fine.... and congrats to your new addiction

The biggest advice I can give you is don't be afraid to ask questions. It doesn't matter if it's asking where the toilets are to how to work on some advanced skills. Ask questions. It doesn't matter how long some of the guys/gals there have been doing it, 99.9% of them are more than willing and want to help.

A good example is the track day I just did this past Monday on Labor Day. I saw a guy who was at the track for the first time. I knew him from a local Austin message board and he was asking me where to get his chain tightened and a loose rearset tightened. (like a vendor/shop that was set up at the track that he would pay for those services ). I told him to pull around to our paddock and we would knock it out in about 5 minutes and he was like really? He never thought of asking any of the participants. There were about 60 riders there that would have done the same thing in a heartbeat.

Have fun and get ready to lose a lot more of your vacation days due to the track...

As a first track day i suggest you get an instructor to go out with you and show you correct body positioning and lines. Cant stress that enough.

2 big things that killed my first track day:

-Check your tire pressure
-Leave the ego at home

thats why i choose to go with team pro motion for my first td cause they offer an instructional class free of charge to first timers

as far a tire pressure will that really play a part in my first outing as im sure the suspension itself is way inadequate for me(though considering this is my first time i kinda just want to get used to things and take it slow) but just in case im running brand new bt014s what do you guys recommend

TPM is a good group. They will answer every question you have, no matter how silly. They wont laugh and before you know it you will be a track pro. Get there early, setup shop, hit tech with your bike and helmet. Go back to your pit and relax and wait for the riders meeting. Drink lots of fluids, eat some fruits. Shit and piss before you put you leathers on and you should be fine.
