Default How easy to fix? Penske leaking at upper fitting...

Well I noticed as I was trying to put my penske on that it's leaking at the upper fitting... I know it was rebuilt before it came to me so everything else is fine but it's slowly seeping air and there was oil on top of the shock... I'm gonna blame myself on causing this cause I rotated the fitting to try various mounting points, probably screwed up any seal it had... so how easy or not is it to fix? I have summit point on Friday and would like to not use my stocker but will if I have to...

blue upper fitting. It's lost half of its pressure since last night...

*edit* talked to CTR suspension and he said it won't be too hard to fix but dunno how long it'll take... SHIT!!!

Fixing the seal probably only involves tightening the fitting. Re-filling the shock with nitrogen to the correct pressure is a bit of a bitch. Depending on who's at the track, you may be able to get it filled there.

Well I called CTR and he said they could do it though he mentioned that he'd have to take it apart and freshen it up. Maybe he just didn't understand what exactly the problem was... I dunno... I'll explain it to him when I get there Thursday night. Hopefully it's as minimal as you say though I guess I'll have to figure on at least part the day being on the stocker...

If you were closer to me, I'd fix it for you... I have all the stuff at work.

You could run down to your local airport and find a mechanic to sort it out for ya... they should have all the stuff if you have the numbers...
