Default Bie won't idle! Any ideas?

Alright, here's the deal......I recently changed the oil and plugs and did the pair mod on my bike. I am now getting problems getting the bike to idle. I didn't adjust anything yet to the bike and I was wondering what would be the best thing to do. The bike runs normal when I am on the throttle, but when I get to a stop, it idle's very rough and dies out. Should I adjust the idle? If so, where is the adjustment, and how should I do it. I also have a PCII installed.....is there anything I should do to it after doing the pair mod? Should I lean it out or just leave it alone? Any input would be very helpful!!!! THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My bet would be a vacuum leak from the pair mod. Make sure everything is sealed up well (silicone RTV gasket sealer) on the block off plates, and the hoses/holes from the airbox are sealed.

Or, you could just put the reed valves back in - give that .005hp back, forgo the 1lbs weight savings, save yourself a ton of trouble, and as a bi-product, help the environment a little. On a racebike, probably make sense. A streetbike - always seemed pointless to me (which is why I never did it).

flame away....

It probably is a vacuum leak. You may have forgotten to plug the vacuum line from the throttle bodies to the Pair selonoid valve.

Your idle probably changed when the mod was performed, even if you didn't do anything wrong. The idle adjustment is a grey knob near the oil fill cap. It is notoriously stiff, you may have to muscle it a bit to get it to turn. Up the idle to about 1300 to 1400 RPM and see how she runs.

If you are still having issues you may need to check your previous work, or prop the tank up and start looking for an empty nipple on the throttle bodies (you may have pulled a hose off by accident during the Pair mod).
