You gotta use your tools.

You can do that at Mid-Ohio during the AMA races too. Usually don't have to look backwards either.

One of the last UFC fights I watched was similar. This fighter was being held from behind and he couldn't see which side the guy was on. He looked up in the huge monitor above the ring and saw the other guy behind him. Then he was throwing elbows to one side or the other by looking in the monitor. Maybe I'm having a hard time explaining, but it reminds me of this post...

what was the super bowl where the guy scored a touchdown and used the big screen to avoid the tackle from behind? I can't remember....
