Default Look What’s Back!!!

Found it at my local Honda dealer today. Notice it’s no longer made by Honda (not that Honda ever made it anyway). According to the parts dude Honda had a problem with the contracted Company (apparently called Next Dimension as labeled on this can). So now they are just labeling and selling it themselves. He assured me it’s exactly the same stuff. It does smell the same (mmmmmmmmmmmm) but I have not used it on the bike yet… Oh and it’s still cheap ($5.99 at the dealer)…

I was wondering where that stuff went. I've been using Plexus in the meantime. I know it was outlawed a year or so ago in Cali, but I thought that had been remedied. It's still been a little hard to find lately...

Ya I think that outlawed BS (heard the same thing in NJ) was just Honda’s story to cover up the fact that they contract issues with this company. The inventers of this stuff should win the Noble Prize!

Okay, perhaps my head was in the sand but I never saw it missing in Colorado. The local Honda stealerships had never ran out.

Same here (well not the head in the sand part). It's been on the shelves here all along. I was talking to one of the guys up at Fay Myers (local shop) a couple months ago. I was there buying a bunch of it cuz I was afraid it would dry up. He said the only place you couldn't get it was on the left coast. Something about causing birth defects.. yada, yada, yada.

Anyway, glad to see it hitting the shelves everywhere once again. That stuff is AWESOME.

Does that make my "Honda Labeled" can of the stuff a colectors item? Wisconsin never ran out either. I havent seen the 'new' stuff yet. They must buy it by the dumptruck load around here.

That stuff is a painter's worst nightmare. It would be easier to paint a panel after you coated it with WD-40.

+1 on that....I fish eyed every pice of body work when spraying my superhawk a few years back. Had to sand it all off and start over. But the stuff is the best. Good to see it back.

That's true, because they won't even stick to begin with I've found that Mcguiars quick detail works very well without making the surface permanently saturated with silicone. Soapy water and a soft cloth is still the best way, but very inconvenient if you don't have an air compressor to blow all the water out of the tight areas.

I know that at least with a regular paint finish, the Honda polish basically lubricates the surface with silicone. This makes it impossible for anything to stick to it because the adhesive can't actually stick to silicone. My brother always used Honda polish on his RC51 and when he did his first trackday, he couldn't even get tape to stick to the headlights. I had to scrub the crap out of it just to get anything to stick to it.
