Default My weekend project. Not RC related

It's a 1990 KDX200. It's been sitting in the garage for a couple of years now and I finally desided to put it together. I've gone through everything except the forks and shock, but i'm sure those will be done sooner or later. I just hope I can ride it conserveatively the first time out and not break anything.

Good luck with that. I had an 88' and now have a 97' KDX. On the street, I'm one of the most careful guys you will run into, but put me on the green 2 stroke, and for some reason, anytime it sees a flat, clear piece of ground, the front wheel takes flight.

I had that same year KDX200 (albeit 15 years ago). It's a great all-rounder dirt bike.

Well, I took it out for the first time this morning. It's absoultely obnoxious. Sounds like a major swarm of bumble bees trying to get you. I can also tell a major difference in power. The power valve stuff wasn't working when I bought it a couple of years ago. Matter of fact, during the disassembley, some of the power valve parts were rolling around in the expansion chamber. The difference is night and day.. Something is bent in the front. I don't know if its the trees or the forks, but it doesn't track right at the handle bars. At this point i'm just gonna ride the thing. I've got 2 or 3 times more money in it then its worth..

Two ways to deal with thatfront end
(1) stick the front tire between two trees and whack the bars left or right.

(2) ride it all the time and you will not even notice it after a while

Tom, you need to start attaching bigger images. My eyes can't deal with it and I'm only 23.

Yes, the KDX's are all 2 strokes, but the KLX series is 4 stroke and has a headlight also.
