Default 15/42

Well... I had a 520 15/41 Aluminum set up, which met its demise at the hands of the all mighty torque. I literally broke every tooth off my rear sprocket ridin with Zee, I::AM::GOD, and Hybrid I am impatient and couldn't wait to find a 520 15/41 steel set up, all I could find was a 530 15/42 steel set up...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I lost 1 HP from the rotational mass of the steel and the 530... As far as I'm concerned, this bike should have come geared like this from the factory. I have the Satos, the PCIII USB, flapper and all that other shit, but NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING gave the bang of the 15/42. Its a proper rocket ship now... I'm sure I'll be burnin through gas tanks even quicker, at least I'll be able to get to that next station quicker too...

Just thought I'd share...

-Brian

You'll get the 1 hp back that you lost by going to steel, by adding 2 stratigically placed decals.........

You'll only be able to go 158 mph now, so you got that going for you.

I'm running 15-41/520 right now, not sure if I'm going to go 15-42/520 or 15-43/520 next.

Any thoughts/experiences/opinions?

I'm running 15/42/530. Next time I'll try 15/43/520.

I'm running 15/43/520. The gas milage on the highway sucks. Besides that it's fun.

I'm surprised to see so many 15/43's... I didnt know anyone was runnin gearing that high! I need a speedo healer, this thing is even worse now. If I had to guess I'd say I'm doin 70 when my speedo reads 100... Anyone know where I can get those performance enhancing stickers Rigor was talkin bout?!

http://www.sidewindersprockets.com/toc.htm

I put one of these on my friends GSXR1000 and it really seems like a good compromise of the steel vs aluminum rear sprocket debate.

I run 15/42 at Barber, 15/41 at VIR. The 42t rear makes it more fun on the street.

What did you set it to? Because 175 mph is not attainable on a oem geared RC51!
