Default Highside at local trackday.

I have finally popped my cherry. Thats right, I crashed out for the first time ever yesterday at a local trackday. I had a highside at about 50 mph and broke a few things. Mainly, i put a serious crater in my tank so I will be looking for one as soon as I return from my next race (july 2nd). If anyone has one for sale or knows where to find one I would love to hear about it. All in all though I think I made it out pretty well with a broken finger, stock footpeg & clip on, upper fairing and tail, scratched cans, and the spool broke off of the swingarm. Anyway, just thought I would let you guys know that I'm no longer a virgin to the asphalt.

Shitty news... my first crash at the track was last year, highsided at the top of 2nd around 100mph.

Oddly enough I didn't break anything and despite two nice bumps on the helmet, I remember every second of it. Twisted both ankles, dislocated left thumb, stitches in some knuckles on my right hand, and a bit of rash from where my sleeve rode up.

Definitely a humbling experience. I lost a bunch of confidence after that one... the best thing to do is get back on the bike as soon as possible and get up to your usual pace!

Look at it on the plus side, every time I took a soil sample I returned more determined and faster than before. I have no doubts that you will return a possessed man no longer afraid of riding that raged edge we like to call the limit.

No doubt that mine was nowhere close to the magnitude as yours, I feel like I have gotten it out of the way and might have a little more confidence next time. Not that I am going to be stupid or anything but this experience has taken away a lot of the unknown of what it is like to go down. I previously thought that it would be a lot more terrifying as I was actually going down, but it all happens so fast after you are actually off that there's not much time to be scared while in the air or sliding. I certainly don't want it to happen again if I can prevent it, and will probably be a little more conservative with the throttle coming out of turns in 2nd. That's for sure. BTW, thanks for the encouragement and sympathy.

oh yeah, it always sucks to go down. But don't let that stop ya, take it as a learning experience and get back out there.

Second gear can be nasty sometimes. Most of my dramatic slides come from a poorly executed second gear drive.

Sorry to hear man. Good thing your ok I fricken highsided my bike on US-1 and some guy cut me off and slammed his brakes. Damn drivers . Road rash hurts like a bitch.. Bike is ok just some rash on the upper fairing and lower left fairing oh and my left side clip on is broken. The worst part is im too broke to fix it, but hey it's still rideable.

Hey area51racer!

You've got me at a loss for words!?? Well, no I'm not I think, you might have screwed up alittle there, no?
Where you say, poorly executed 2nd gear drive, and talking about, "dramatic slides"!!??

You see, I would have thought, that you would have said something like, When I'm Cranking on the Loud Handle! In 2nd gear,......
that is where I have had, some of My Most Awesome Friggin' Slides!=(Dramatic!)

Now! You see how much better that sounds!
