anyone up for a ride?

I am currently stuck over in Iraq, but I finally have my leave dates! I fly outta here on the 7th of July, it may take 2-4 days to get back to Ohio. I plan on going to northern KY for some riding during the week (between drunken binges of coarse) and then a long weekend to go to deals gap. I will be going with a couple friends from dayton, but would love to finaly meet some of the others on here and have a few drinks and tell a bunch of lies... or something like that.

Cool, I'll make sure to get my phone turned back on before heading down there, and let you know the details when I start to figure them out. Kinda hard to plan a ride from over here, not knowing anyone's sched and stuff like that.

sounds good to me. I only live a couple of hours from there and have never been there, so i am ready to go. For all those that may be going, my partner was over there last saturday and a guy working at the store said the nchp is patrolling hard on motorcycles and gave out 28 tickets last sat. morning.

It's been a while! I forgot all about that. Since then, I got the sato's and let me tell you. There is a reason so many on here praise them.

I can't stop thinking about going home!!! I should be either in the air about this time in 2 weeks, or waiting for a flight in Kuwait (never know how long it will take to get a flight) That means 3 weeks till deals gap!!!

Anyone know a good place to stay while at deals gap? I need to get a couple rooms reserved, if it's not too late.

Hey Wildchild......................Hope you make it back o.k.

We haven't had a chance to meet, but probably know some of the same people here in Dayton. I'm a new RC Pilot and haven't had a chance to take it to KY yet. I would love to join you and know some others that would also. Don't know if your interested, but I have a open trailer that can hold 2 and a friend of mine has an enclosed that holds 3 plus 2 in his truck. We know of one other that has a trailer also, not sure on the number it holds though.

I was just recently introduced to the northern KY roads about a month ago.............was smiling the whole time.

Hook me up with your number once you get back and we can start getting everyone together.

Depending on the dates, I'm not sure about the Gap right now because of all the UCI prep.

Dude just let me know when your back in town so we can do some riding.

I live in the Woods, which is right behind Wright State. I have to concentrate when riding my bike up Zink Rd for the 3 pools filled with all the girly girls in there skimmpy swim suits.........

Cant wait to hear those Satos also.

I'll be gone for the 4th July week and will be back in town 8th or 9th

Hope to see a few of ya out there. I will be in one of the cabins, and it sounds like about 6 for sure, maybe more.

Unfortunately, the internet is down in our area. So, I have to go and wait in line to use a pc at the internet cafe.
My commander has started looking everywhere he can to give someone an article 15, he tried to give one to an E4, that got shot down from higher up. He tried again with another E4, but before it could get shot down, he found a reason to try and get me with a field grade. So, he dropped the E4's and is trying to get both me and my roommate (both E5's) on some bs charge. I have no doubt that I will beat it, the only problem is that I can't go on leave until it's resolved. They rescheduled my leave for the 23 of july, but who knows what else can happen between now and then. My leadership is totaly worthless, so I guess I will be trying to talk to the chaplain in the morning, maybe since he is a major, and can go and talk to the batt. commander, I can get this bs issue resolved.
Anyone want to take 2 cabins at fontana village resort?
I hate these assholes

Your CO is a major? Who did he piss off? Thats a captains job. He most likely wants out and is trying to make an example out of someone. Remeber even though rules and standards are written if you can show a history of what is accepted that becomes relevant. Also if he is showing a pattern of filing mischarges that also is in your favor. Go to JAG and talk to a lawyer.

nope, he's just a captain. I have been to jag a few times, plus to see the chaplain. I am not worried about the outcome, I am sure I will be either cleared completely or get a slap on the wrist. In the mean time, they screwed me on my leave. They changed my leave date to the 23 of july, which means I may very likely not be able to make it back in time to take the EMT-B class I'm signed up for in august. It is very important for me to take the class, to be able to start switching from a mechanic to a full time fire fighter / paramedic.

So, they are making me pick between my career or a 2 week vacation. I missed out on level 2 fire because of being deployed, I don't want to miss another important class.

but, thanx for the advice.

What kind of officers are you having to work with over there??????????

Starting to sound a little like Wright Patt, where it's 90% civilian (working with them is killing me........SSSSSSSSoooooooo slow at things), 8% officers (everyone of them trying to make an impression for there OPR), and then 2% enlisted (which coming here from a base with a combat mission, most Have been here a little to long and seem way toooo relaxed with no sense of urgency) but this is just MY observation.

Sorry, had to vent for a second. Well you know what you must do and whats best for your future. We can always find the time to trailer the bikes to northern KY and relieve some stress for the weekend. Also looking at your time frame on coming back, we have the AMA races at Mid-Ohio in August.

Do what you need to and make sure to document the timeline that this guy started all this. Remember statemants from others always help to.

I have talked to jag, my chaplain, and several others abou this bs. I keep hearing that I should get nothing more then a slap on the wrist. Anyways, my company has moved my leave date to the 19th of july, which gets me back in time for my class. I'm getting the **** outta here!

I am going to try to make it to deals gap from the 28-30th if anyone is interested. I will try to get down to KY for a ride, not sure when though. It will depend on how long it takes to get home.
