Not a formal recall, but Honda replaced 2000 model tanks with cracked/leaking welds under warranty.

Gage pack will deform from sun and heat. Some dealers replaced the unit under warranty.

I called my dealer (aka: village idiot ) to ask about this as I think my 2000 model may have this problem, but he said he's never heard of this problem at all so I'm pretty much SOL. Would you contact Honda directly or do you think it is a lost cause?

the probem with BMW is not that its bad engineering, its actually wuite good, they problem is that its engineers engingeering the products. this means you will have a 12mm bolt in a place where no 12mm wrench will ever be able to get to.

Same thing I thought... I was just wondering tho. I have 21000 miles on the animal and never had any problems other than the relay for the fuel inj, system was intermittently cutting out. I replaced it 5000 miles ago and never a pinch-a-trouble since....

That's how their cars are. Sometimes even worse.

Don't get me started on their cars. I could rant for days about how their cars are ass backwards when it comes to routine maintenance. Examples, the 95 5 series we have lying around has the battery under the rear passenger seat. No big deal, but getting that rear seat off sure is. Imagine what it would be like trying to jump start it on a nasty winter night.

man do I ever disagree with you...I have a 525i and love the beast...this has been my first car and I have literally beat the living shit out of it and it has never gave me any problems...

as far as working on them I would have to say yes they are a little different than domestics but I sure as hell don’t see a ford taking a corner at high speeds like a bimmer does...I truly love the handling...and when I graduate dental school I will either get an m3 or and m5 cause by then I will be in so my dept that it really wouldn’t even matter...

now the battery thing is actually genius if you think about it...bmw has always been known for handling and the reason for the battery being back there is due to the fact that bmw wanted to achieve the 50/50 ration for the weight of the car...as far as the jump starting goes...u have a hexagon (if im not mistaking) bolt under ur hood to the right of the right wheel which is a positive connection and then you just ground it to the strut bolt...

Yes BMWs are expensive and the new 7 series have had problems with some electronics but you tell me another car manufacturer that can produce 333hp from a 3.2 V6 for under 50k and ill ...and u say their engineers suck...as far as I know they are one of the best in the WORLD!!!!!!!!
