Default KTM Supermoto's. Might be intersted in picking one up. Please advise.

Now that I have made my RC51 a track only bike, I have been toying with the idea of getting a KTM Supermoto say 450 or 650 for light track duty, but mostly for bumping around town and commuting to work on. What models should I be looking at such that I can convert the bike for both duties. Please advise. Thanks.

Are you planning any off-road trips with it at all? If so I'd get a 525EXC. If you are sticking to strictly street maybe one of the Duke models or something similar with the LC4 engine. I've owned a few KTM's (EXC's and MXC) and have nothing but positive things to say about any of them. Very nice bikes no matter what you get (4 stroke that is).

Post your question in the supermoto section for some good answers.

I just picked up a 560smr - stupid fast, power wheelies throught the first 3 gears not even at full throttle. I haven't been in 4th - 6th yet - I'm trying to break it in slowly

The SMR bikes are very maintenance intensive, oil changes every 4-500 miles, valves all the time, etc.. you have to really want one to get one for the street. Mine is being converted for the street right now.

Get a KTM with an LC4 motor if you want a normal maintenance schedule and to be able to cruise at highway speeds all day long.
