Honda 1989 VTR 250. Collector's item or not?

I was wondering if this bike could be a collector item or a possible track bike? There is one locally for sale, and I have never seen this model bike. Or is this just a cheapy like the Ninja 250's or 500's for example?

I had a 90 VTR 250...VTwin motor, lots of fun, revs to about 14000 ... but it was down on power and the suspension was lacking...it'd be an ideal bike for a beginner...

Color was white, dark blue and magenta with a single front disc...I think the 89 was some combo of magenta, green and black...with an unusual inside-the-hub front brake...

Interesting? Yes. Collector's? No. Feels like a 20 hp moped on-the-go.

Good bike to learn on. You'd like it.




But really, as Walt said, the '90 is more desireable anyway, because it has disk brakes and a non-brokeback paint scheme.
