I wear SMX plus when I ride, track or street.
I used to have a pair of touring style boots by A-Stars way back when but I found was they were neither good walking shoes or motorcycle boots. Its like one or the other.

Alot of guys around here wear Sidi, but they complain about things getting loose, and my A-Stars are really squeeky sometimes.

+1 on SMX Plus squeeks. They creak and squeek like no tomorrow but they feel so sturdy on the road its amazing. I love em and its not a big production just to get them on like the Techs.
It's definitele one or other on boots for riding and walking comfort.

I wear these when I'm commuting back and forth to work, and they are comfy. However, I do have a change of shoes that I leave at work so I'm not in my boots all day...

any boot, made of leather, lorica or otherwise will stretch out.

something to note, the sidis are built a little more slim, alpinestars a little more wider.

I also have a pairs of these and do like them. Been wearing them for 3 years and them are holding up very well. Work good riding and are comfortable to walk in.
I also have a pair of Oxtar TCS boots and they are very good on the bike but are very uncomfortable to walk in.

stupid question... when wearing road boots with jeans are you tucking the jeans in or wearing the jeans over the boot?

all depends on how baggy the legs of the jeans are. If they will fit on the outside then great if they don't then tuck them in...

I'm riding with them tomorrow. My 1st impression when I put them on is they are stiff. But I had the same impression of my AlpineStars Jacket till I got on the bike and rode. It was amazing how it's molded perfectly to a natural riding position. I'll have more to report after a day of riding tomorrow!

Ok got a chance to ride with the SMX-R’s. At 1st I tried them on under my jeans. Even though the calf is adjustable with Velcro on the inside they would not get tight enough. This bothered me as I headed out (the tops kept hitting my calf and shins). A quick stop for gas, and I tucked in my jeans and the calf adjustment was now perfect. The only other thing I noticed is with the molded toe bumps it made it hard to get my foot under the shifter. When I got to my buddy’s house I moved my stock rears one spine higher and now it feels perfect. Overall the boot feels great and the ventilation is awesome. It’s about 70 plus outside today and my dogs stayed sweat fee and comfy. I’m sure they will get better with time as they break in a bit. Based on today I’d highly recommend them so far!
