am selling my 2004 RC51 due to a divorce. The bike has never been run hard or raced and has approximately 5000 miles on it. It has been garaged only and not ridden in the rain. I have the following mods completed:
Flapper
Pair
Galfer lines
CRG shortie black levers
Pilot Powers (new)
J. Ahlman healer
GPR Steering Stabilizer
15/41 conversion
Included in the sale:
Shoei RF1000 size L
Teknic leather jacket
Held Galaxy gloves size XL
Fieldsheer leather pants size 32-34
Three set of knee pucks
Sidi Vertebrae boots size 46
velocity gear armor size L
I have the original fairing stay and the original brake and clutch levers also.
Never down or raced.
I am asking $8,500 for the entire set-up. I am not willing to price the pieces individually.
Hey Scott!
Man, I just wanted to say I am sorry to hear about your problem! Sucks!
But why sell your ride because of this? I would think it would be important to Keep, so when your feeling like crap, just get on your RC51, go ridding and feel Better!
I hope you will be alright, keep your chin up and hang tough-tuff!
Peace Jeff

Hey man, keep the RC51 if you can. When time comes that the woman don't want you, or you don't want the woman, there is nothing to do but to split the scene.
You can't make nobody want you, and you can force yourself to want somebody. Things like that happen.
If the divorce is not wrenching your pocket like it did to one of our beloved members not too long ago, keep the RC51 and ride off into the phuckin sunset.. And say phuck it!!!

Keep the bike... You'll need it for those tough days... Nothing will put the memories behind you like a long hard ride and the hot chick in the convertible who stares at you while your on the bike...
I couldn't agree more with what has been said so far. Divorce is commonly caused by problems with either money or the sex life. Lets just say that if she was in it for the money, then selling your RC tends to work in her favor. I had some good friends that married too young. He just wanted a hot chick and she just wanted his money. When he spent more dough on bikes and racing than on her lifestyle, she quickly wanted out. She was greed driven but knew going after moer of his money would cause her to stare at a horrible person in the mirror, herself. She opted to not go after his money and she just divorced him and moved many states away. In my opinion that is the way it should be. If you aren't in it for love and friendship then why be greedy when it goes bad? It is a horrible trend that should be stopped before it gets even more out of control.
So you see, you will need this personal belonging of yours in the future because it is yours and her actions should not have to compromise that unless it is absolutely necessary.
Sorry for all my ranting and spare . I just have a hard time understanding what makes some women want to give up a good thing and think they can find a better life after they have invested so much in a relationship.

Thanks for the support guys, yea its a financial decision that is causing the sale of the bike. I didn't think at 40 I would be starting over but what the hell.
I'll consider keeping the bike if things work in my favor.
Starting over. I like that phrase. It's like a fresh breath of air to some. A new beginning and a chance to be yourself again. I think we all understand to some degree what you are going through. Just keep your chin up and enjoy your new lease on life.

Hell yeah, keep that sweet bike. '04 Hayden's! I was divorced just after getting my '04 I still have now. Ex Jap wife didn't want nothing to do with motorcycles... so, I had no problems. Wasn't financially screwed... as our marriage was Japanese only... not in the U.S. So, there are no laws for a American foreign national (with out kids) that has to pay or split anything 50/50! So, basically was just signed the divorce creed... and said, "Later hater."
And me and my RC are still together... hopefully for a long while longer.
Be keep positive man, start out fresh like you said and happy times in the future for you bro. Just don't leave 'ur RC!
Ordered the vette today and it should be delivered in six weeks. Black on black with the Z51 performance group, heads up display, both tops, paddle shifters, XM and a Nav package. I can't wait to see it. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll post pics when it comes in, me, my Apache, my vette and the RC.
