Not sure if anyone else seen the Road Racer X magazine that features Rossi on a VTR1000. It was Colin Edwards bike during the Suzuka 8hr race long time ago... FROM ROSSI "The test went very well; I liked the VTR1000 a lot. I was coming from the NSR500, and I found the VTR1000 a tasty yet submissive bike, easy to handle. It went where I wanted it to go and did everything I asked. And it did slid a lot, which I absolutely loved".......
My all time favorite scheme is the Rossi Cabin replica. That is from any bike and year and any rider...Rossi on the Cabin was one of the best! I will buy/make a set in my SP1 days mark my words! Turn1 and HardCharger, you 2 better sleep with those body kits by your sides!!!
Ahh...the 51 is just amazing. It also won the 24Hrs Of LeMans. Most "experts" thought that hard riding for so long would be too much for a V-Twin to handle. Wrong.
Rossi is so cool. In one of his biographys there's a picture of him riding around London on a VTR SP1 that he blagged out of Honda ... looking like any other guy out there on the streets.
Resurrecting a old thread here, does anyone have the first and last page of the scanned article? I can only find page 100, 102 and 104. And at least the beginning and ending of the article is missing, quite annoying.
I believe the whole article is lifted from Rossi's book "What if I'd Never Tried it?" so if all else fails look there. Nice pictures here though. His take on it all is is interesting & pretty funny. Incredible the guy could take a break in the middle of the GP calendar, get off the NSR 500 and be instantly competitive on a 4 stroke V twin in an endurance race.
