Nothing wrong with pasta, as long as you aren't a poseur

Hey you guys still out there? I just got a used 02 monster. Totally new to motorcycling, but rode around on a buddy's dirtbike at Jim Creak a few weeks ago. Nearly ran into some of the sparse trees a few times. Taking a riding course in July.

Which shop do you guys go to in town if you're in Anchorage? Also, why the hell does everyone hang out at Taco Bell?

Good to see more people from Ak on this board. What kind of monster did you pick up? As for shops my bike is at The Motorcycle Shop.

2002 620ie dark. Very stock. The idle is pretty low, but the last owner didn't ride it much. Hopefully it'll charge up with some riding or batt tender.

Once I get my bike back from the shop we will have to go riding. Hopefully I can get off work early enough to pick it up this week.

Yeah, I hear good things about the road to Hope. I'm wary of Turnagain Arm RVs though.

Road to Hope is being repaved....Last year it was brutal, lots of big potholes....A friend of mine destroyed two rims and tires on that road last month, but I hear that it will be fixed by end of season...Turnagin Arm is one of my favorites, just beautiful all of the way down, and plenty of places to pass the pilgrims in RVs....Also, the road to Portage glacier is good, Old Glenn Hwy is nice, Knik River road can be fun, and Hatcher Pass just rocks!!!! Wherever you ride in AK be sure to keep an eye out for the tourists rubbernecking, and for moose too!!!! As for Taco Bell, the owners don't mind us hanging there, and it is a nice way to meet fellow sport riders...Big sportbike party at the House of Harley on July 14 will be a good social scene also....
