Thumbs down Buyer Beware of Beaudry Motorsports!!

Just a heads up to those of you thinking of buying a bike from Beaudry Motorsports..

Last month, I found a 2000 996 online that was for sale at Beaudry Motorsports. The guy I spoke with was cool and talked to me about the bike, telling me that the dealership had done all the service on the bike and that the bike was in excellent condition. After loking at the photos, I called and asked about what appeared to be a small mark on the swingarm. The guy said that it looked like someone my have bumped it on the wall pulling it into the garage, it doesn't appear to ever have gone down. I was also told that the bike had been given it's 18k service - there ad claimed, "Fresh service, ready to ride".

Well, upon delivery of the bike...here is the toll thus far...

Radiator cowling: broken in half
Front fender: broken and cracked
nose fairing: craked (they replaced)
tail section: gashed from crashing (They didn't show that side in the pics)
tires: shot, down past wear indicators
tank: scratched to $hit
motor: leaking oil in FOUR places
Water Pump: worn almost completely down from previous accident
18k service: never completed
Radiator: empty, two leaking hoses
Rear sprocket: tightened too tight, no c-clip in place, had to replace entire rear sprocket and hub assembly.
Rear drive: three of four pins sheared and have to be replaced
Brakes: all have to be replaced, rear needs new disk
Service: This bike had NEVER been in the dealership prior to being taken in as trade
I was also told the bike had FBF exhaust. Nope...Two Brothers.

So, moral of the story...don;t buy sight unseen. And, DON'T BUY FROM BREAUDRY MOTORSPORTS WITHOUT SEEING, RIDING, GETTING ALL THE SERVICE DOCS, WRITTEN PROOF THAT BIKE IS AS STATED!!!!

Wow! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Nothing worse than having your mouth ready for tender sirlion only to find beef jerky. I bought from them and had an awesome experience. I took my bike there for a service and the experience was far from awesome. Seems like they would've taken the bike back. Did you try that? Isn't there a "lemon law" for motorcycles? Good luck with repairing everything yourself. Post some pics if you can.

Wow, sorry to hear about your experience. FWIW, I bought my 900CR from them in 1999 and have received excellent service from both the parts and service department ever since. Steve Beaudry has also gone out of his way on several occaisions to help me get special order items at cost that he does not even stock. Maybe my being a regular customer has influenced what kind of service I'm receiving. Hopefully that's not the case. Anyway, hopefully all this works out for you.

Best regards,

Jeff

Wow - I purchased my 999s from them right off the floor. They where easy to work with and delivered the bike without a scratch. My only "complaint" was I had to call them to have them send me the stock system. Steve found it in the back sitting on the loading dock with my name/address on it but it never was shipped out. While it upset me it's a honest mistake (ups had the number in the system but the part was "Lost". I blame this more on the UPS guy than Beaudry).

Used bikes are rough and I would make sure to follow up with them on a call. Bad thing about "used" bikes is you buy them "As Is". I agree its a load a bull pooh but they seem to be stand up business. Honestly everyone can complain about every company out there..
