Angry PA Health Care coverage for Motorcyclists.

I am a member of one of the oldest AMA sanctioned motorcycle clubs in America . During one of our meeting this week I heard from another member and a visiting A.B.A.T.E. spokesman that some of the health care providers in Pennsylvania are not insuring people who decide to ride motorcycles and or ride motorcycles without head protection . Just for the record, in Pennsylvania most riders are not required to wear a helmet by law. There are a few requirements which have to be met first before you can ride without a helmet though . May I ask all of you a question or two? Has anybody heard of this before or have any experience of this happening to them? Are there any other states which this is happening in? Please expand our insight in these matters. We all might want to get something going here…. Thank You.

I was told flat out my life INS would not pay if I participated in any proffessional events. At that time being a pro card holder I was only able to race in money paying events. I also had a similar rider on my long term disability. Those two factors ended my racing. I have since had the clauses removed just to protect my family in the event I do get injured ridding. I wanted to eliminate any misinterpritation of that clause. My vehicle insurance did ask if I wore a helmet and the agent made the incinuation that corerage could be declined if I chose not to.
