Default Betty's is gone.

Just an FYI, as of last weekend, Betty's Bikes & Buns is history (again).

Bummer.

Does it appear to be a more permanent closure this time?

Well then, that's a shame.

Of course, I was not a regular there, and if I was, along with a few of my friends, maybe it would still be there.

Does it seem to be based on business, or were there extenuating circumstances?

I don't have details, my guess is that it was financial.

Hey RP,

The replacement is called the Full Moon and it is a few miles north of the Highland House on 41 in Lake Bluff . It's just not the same IMO. Every once in a while I will see a few classics that make it worth a stop.

It's just too damn hard to run a business in this state due to the taxes.. Sad really.. ExWife lost two nail shops due to the tax man.

+1

The Full Moon has never been the draw of Highland House. On only a few occasions have I seen the number of bikes on a average day at the Highland House, and never as many as a busy day.

Maybe a little more time and more people will start to filter in.
