Minnesota Meet?
Do you Duc guys from Minnesota meet for rides and conversation? I am getting ready for spring and need someone to teach me about my 749s.
I have had it a year and all I have done is look at it and add a few mods. It is time to ride!

Rob, I'm over in Brooklyn Park. When the snow melts let's hook up. Drop me a PM with you number and we'll get something going...

I am in St. Paul. Going to go down and get my bike out of storage . . . ride it up here in a couple weeks.

That’s great guys. I sold a BMW R90s today and it is being picked up in the morning. Getting it ready is giving me spring fever bad!

I'm new to my '03 749s and would like to meet up with the local Ducatisti when the weather permits. Is there a good place somewhere central? Usually I'm riding the Triumph over in WI between Prescott and Alma, hanging out with the cruiser crowd. Where do the sport-bikers hang out? (I should know the answer -- riding, not sitting around!)

Well I just got a new battery since my old one didn't survive the winter even on a battery tender.. Next week I have hopes..

Battery Killers!!
That is very odd.. My battery died over the winter also. It was on a battery tender all winter? One year seems to be a very short life span..

Hmm, guess I'd better check the 625's battery! I didn't even think about putting a battery tender on it this year...

Well, got out of work early today (YIPPEE!) and sure enough, the 625 had about 10 seconds of life to it, then nothing. Oops! Battery Tender now in place.
At $2.65 per gallon for Unleaded today, it's time to start riding the KTM. Rain or shine.

Well I pulled the duc out of it's slumber and my battery flopped even with a Battery Tender connected and in the house. Ducati is noted for BAD BATTERIES. I picked up a good AGM style from Batteries Plus. Motoprimo wanted 109 dollars and only gave 90 day warranty and the battery wasn't even a AGM (but it was sealed). AGM are copper spiral wond coils. Anywho.. Batteries Plus sold me the battery for 69 dollars and gave me a 1 year replacement warranty.
I was able to ride a little on Saturday and Sunday. With Gas getting near 3 bucks a gallon (reminds me of California when I lived there) I'm thinking of getting another bike to commute on. I hate cleaning up a bike after riding in the rain, especially a Duc..
So if I can get a week or two notice lets go for a little ride. I'm a afternoon guy myself..

After screwing around with the 625 & a Battery Tender, I determined that I needed a new battery. $56 at Fleet Farm, but not in stock. $125 at Motoprimo, and it fired right up.
Damn.

Heh. I just order up a new set of leathers as well. Dennis Kirk had what I wanted on close out. Now all I need is a slipper clutch..

I haven't been down to Bobs in two years... Suppose to rain easter sunday.. Maybe we should look at a group thing next weekend. I'm taking off April 27 and 28 for my bday and heading south to ride some roads down in Winona. Going to break in my new leathers..
