Default Kzoo too!

Yo! I'm in kalamazoo as well. I'll be down for some serious riding, but probably not until the spring. I gotta get insurance back on my bike and all that jazz. I'll be hanging around here until then.

I'm in Michigan, but not your area, more middle of the mitten. There's gotta be better roads over there on your side than around here....

If I ever get over there (other than a trackday) I'll look you guys up.

I have a bike, and I ride it. I'd give a low down on it here, but then that would take away from my riding time!

Im in the Detroit area too and belong to the Mi. Desmo Owners Club (ducsunlimited.com). We do a few trackdays out at Gingerman every year. Look on our site for upcomming events out there. We will be Co-hosting the Great Lakes Track Fest and Rally out at Gingerman on August 18th-20th. We otherwise don't do much out your way as most of our membership is in S.E. Mi.

sweet nice to see so many of you on here. we have a pretty varyed buch of riders in our normall group. from new guys to old one like myself(well at least my wife just called me old today as it was my 33rd birthday, hehe i guess i deserve it from telling her the same 4 days ago on her b day hehe). we all ride differnt types of bike to. hmm let me count well this is what was at our last ride.

1 Black bird
1 cbr 600f4i
1cbr 929
2 vfr800 interceptors
3 busa's
1 zx 9r
1 zx-11
1 R1
1 zx-10
1 cbr 954
and my 92 gsxr 1100 which i will be changing out back and forth with the 01 rc51 im getting on the 12th of feb. we prefer the twisty stuff mainly but like much of Mi its in short supply and its hard not to over ride a certain area and end up pissing of all the locals there so we change it up some from weekend to weekend. there are some seriously nice roads in the upper part of the LP. id like to hit as many track days as possible this year and a trip or 2 way up north and way down south (dragon). we may also hit 131 drag way once or twice this year to for the legal version of what we already do hehe. we ride a decent pace on the street but not to insane on the back roads to much to hit out there and to many people just plain not looking for you.

i and a few of our group also ride dirt to so let us know if you want to do that to. im on a 03 crf450 in the dirt.

We do an up north ride every year too, one of our members who lives up in Traverse City hosts the event, you can see pics from '05 ride here.

Also there is a write up in our newsletter about the ride.

in .pdf format.

As always, non Ducati owners are welcome to our events.

Southeastern MI here. I don't plan on any riding until spring and I hope (and pray) that these potholes get fixed here. I hit one today and I thought my whole car was going to explode! That friggin crater was about 12-18 inches diameter and a good six inches deep.
This state sux in the winter.

hehe yea the pot holes over arent anybetter. say ive got another question fo you guys, have they been taking roads near you and covering them with loose stone last summer and the summer before that. ive noticed this trend here in kalamazoo and a few countys up north have been doing this instead of re paving the road. i hate it myself for obvious reasons, but lately they have been doing it to roads that didnt even need it.

amen!!... One of the huge reasons that no MI street rider should equip their ride with CF wheels! LOL By the way, you know the only roads they're worried about are the ones too and from Ford field for the damn superbowl! LOL Its BS but I work directly across the street from Ford field and its pretty funny the shit I see them doing to make this city not look like such a shit hole! Oh yea, I know have to walk 3/4 of a mile too and from my car since I cant park anywhere around my building for less than $50 ...that number should be over $200 by next weekend.

Yep, they have been doing that up here for about 4+ years I think. Even roads that were freshly paved 2 years prior gets the stuff, basically to prevent the inevitable....

The chip and seal sucks! My front tire slid in that crap last summer and the duc fell lightly to the ground (because my shoe slipped too)!

I also lost a distant friend last fall to the stuff, he lost control of his car on a back country road up around Chesaning, ended up flipping his car.

I hate the stuff with a passion.

Unfortunately, unless this warming of winter weather continues, the easiest way for us to avoid it is to move....
