Angry 06 - F4 1000 backfires at 4000 RPM

Hi,
I am looking for some help/feedback in resolving the following -

Background:
1. Purchased a 06 - F4 1000 with 400 miles.
2. Purchased a FBF G2 Slip-ons/FBF midpipe/and FBF EPROM chip.
3. Installed all items in #2.

Issues:
1. Bike is sluggish in 1st - feels like a turbo lag and then it kicks in vs. smooth throttle up.
2. Bike backfires in all gears between 3000 and 5000 RPMs.
3. Bike runs rough

Things I have tried:
I had the local dealer look at the bike and tune it (made the bike run richer). This did not help and they took two hours to perform the work.

I would hate to go back to the stock setup but am hoping others have come across the above and could provide me some feedback/advise. Thanks in advance.

Had the same model as you, and yip - it was a bit hit and miss with that MV engine braking system (closed/partial throttle 3-4K). Make sure the TPS is set EXACTLY where is should be, as this helps alot. Mine ran 10 times better after I set it correctly. I had the RG3 system with no cat.

The EBS Relay can overheat and fail in that model. This can cause all sorts of strange problems in the midrange.
Ditto on the TPS setting, it's critical.
If you are running the Marelli 1.6M processor it might be worth trying trimmer screw adjustments to try to isolate a lean/ rich condition although this can also mask or hide other deeper problems.
