Southern California RC51 Owners

Greetings...

I searched the forums for a roll call for SoCal and found nothing. Or at least nothing recent. I would like to just get a good gauge of how many owners are in the area. So I would say from Ortega Highway (74) to the Cali Mexico border area.

I currently live in Oceanside off the 78 but work in San Diego next to the airport. At times I make the commute on my RC on the I5. So if you spot me throw up the duece!

Ive been in So Cal since 2006. We'll start with basic info so that way if anyone needs assistance in regards to our model of bike then it will be easier. Also if you could post up a current picture as well in case you are spotted cruising the area or someone who is not you is on your bike. So lets see how this thing rolls.

Livin Chula Vista, work in San Diego. Havent ridden the bike since I bought it... First thing I did was strip it down, figure out how to cut weight and add power without doing anything drastic. Now in the process of putting it back together.

How long ago did you buy the bike?

I need to strip mine down and see what all the previous owner did to it and what I need to start working on.

You ever have any free time to show me the ropes around this machine?

I was good with the 1KRR, but a newborn noob with this twin.

Maybe you need to re read your original question to me.... You asked how long have i had the bike... I said July 2010 while on deployment... that is when I bought it.

Mine is 2000 RC51 SP-1, I live near Ortega Hwy (RSM). I don't see very many RC51 here in south OC...

I've had many looks and stares taking it out to the old roads I use to ride.

Telegraph Canyon Rd to Sunrise Hwy to Julian and Banner.

Good ride. Lots of curves and twisties. Ortega isnt that far from me here in Oceanside.

I hear you there, I try to ride the 94/80/79 ride every weekend. Its a nice 140 mile trip with some good lunch in julian!!!

I say we should plan a meet up this weekend or the next.

Pick a neutral spot that would take us down the 76/78 to Palomar and then up to Julian past Banner into Cleavland National Forest and then back around up to the 76.

Let me know what works best for you two. This Sunday morning would be good for me, or the next. Most likely the next sunday as I want to get new rubber on this bike.

Hey all, new to 'Zilla and looking for other RC's I'm SoCal as well.

I'm located in the Inland Empire/ Ontario area. Just picked up an 02 a week ago and looking to find others.

Used to ride up to Wrightwood, Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead before and am looking forward to grunting through the mountains on this great twin!

Sold all my bikes including sp2 several years ago, just got big job promo and can afford to buy another very soon. Keep your eyes open for me, ideally a fully tricked out sp2.
