Default I'm an idiot

Here's the deal. We had a great day as far as weather goes yesterday. To the point where I had the sunroof open on the car all day. Sunny and 64 . I take my chicky out for dinner & rush home to get some things done last night. I woke up this morning and it was pouring rain.

As I lay in bed waking up, I thought to myself, "Oh $hit, did I close my sunroof?" I jump outside in my morning shorts to find it raining heavily inside of my car with the sunroof WIDE open. Oh well. I guess it had to happen eventually. It is a first for me. Luckily it is leather, but is still going to be a PITA to dry out.

I'm an idiot.

COuld be worse.

I seen a Mercedes 500SL convertible with the top down when a severe t-storm hit. Lets just say that was a $80K rolling bathtub when the owner finally got out to his car. Dont know why he got pissed when we walked out and offered him a sponge.

Ok, sure, you're an idiot.

But I'm afraid I have you (and every other living thing in the history of mankind) beat by a wide margin. Here's how it went .....

The cage needed new wiper blades, so I proceed to tackle this very simple task by pulling the wiper back against the spring that holds it against the windshield to gain better access to blade, right? I then remove the blades, so that all that remains is the steel bar that holds the blade. Not paying real close attention (because this is such a simple task, remember?) I turn around to get the new blade and just brush up against steel bar referenced above. Remember the spring mentioned further above? Well, she brought that steel bar right back to the windshield with extreme prejudice ......... SMASH! Time to get a new windshield.

See, I told you I was a bigger idiot that you.

This could actually be a fun thread if everyone chimed in on some of the stupid things they have done.

I recently purchased some cool new billet valve stem caps for my bike. I intstalled them, (not a difficult process) proceeded to take er out for a spin, to see see if I could notice the 3hp gain that these things make. After a few high-speed drags against Ferraris, Porsches ect. (blowing there doors off of course!) I figure I should check the pressure of the new Pilot Powers(great tyres, I'm not english just like the spelling) and discover that they are down a few psi. must have been the extreme temps, from the afformentioned highspeed runs? any way I top em up, proceed to reinstall the caps, which have a small rubber grommet inside, long story short, the front one must have gotten crooked on the reinstall and as I rode home, steering got real heavy, it released all but about 10psi, good thing I was draggin' before the technical mishap.

I have a lifted Tahoe and it was time to change the coolant...I pull everything apart and put a ice chest under my rig to catch the old coolant...I live by the Beach in tree hugging Cali, So they frown upon coolant just running down the gutter. Well I am flushing the radiator and I see coolant flowing down the driveway....I am all WTF...then I realize I didnt close the drain plug on the icechest.....

When I was around 4 or 5 years old I walked into a cow pasture full of mud/dung....with new shoes.
boy was mom pissed

Then a couple of years back I left a glass pan of lasagna sitting on a running burner atop the stove. After a few minutes, Ka-Boom, glass and lasagna all over the place.
"Bork!" "Bork!" "Bork!"

So you took something that is known for having a crappy body but a strong drivetrain, and put in a crappy motor?

A onetime girlfriend of mine returned from the grocery store carried in the groceries. We got 4 plus inches of snow that night. I work midnights and I closed her car door when I got home from work the following morning. I let her find the snow inside when she went to leave for school. OOPS!
