War of the Worlds was originally an Orson Welles raido play, wasn't it?

It was originally written by sci-fi writer H.G. Wells.

Yep Caused some serious panic in 1938. The first movie was 1953. Then in 1988 there was a TV Series. Now a 2nd movie for 05.
