Default This is pathetic...a radio program plays a racist "Tsunami Song"

NYC area hip-hop station played it for 4 days.
http://nydailynews.com/front/s....html

but wait it gets worse....
Before one airing of the song, the station's news reader, Miss Info, who is of Asian descent, objected to the song, only to be attacked by Jones and her cohorts.
"That song is really offensive to me, and I opted not to involve myself," Miss Info said.
Jones replied, "I know you feel you're superior because you're Asian, but you're not." Later, co-host Todd Lyn, incensed at Miss Info's criticism, said, "I'm going to start shooting Asians."

I hope "Miss Info" has found a new place of employment.

Of course they issued an apology.

What do you expect...it's a hip-hop station.

Another inappropriate tsunami thing was discovered by a local radio DJ here. I think this one was accidental, something they had and neglected to take down, but FEMA, the federal emergency management administration, had a kids game on their website where you tried to place objects back on the beach after a tsunami hit. I couldn't believe it, and so I checked to be sure when I got home. The first time I looked it was there, and five minutes later when I went to show my girlfriend it had already been taken down. I just thought it odd that a disaster management organization really has games like that on their website.

The stupid part about it is that there were thousands of other people from differing countries as well, not just asians, many people from all over the world so to hack on asians and make fun of them is pretty sick.

My chickie is Chinese and she is a very warm, loving caring and giving person, she is smart but is very normal and makes friends at the drop of a hat, maybe some of these smartass DJ's who are just too cool for anyone else could take a leaf out of my chickies book and be nice for a change, I do not know how many Americans died over there ......I wonder if the DJ's know or even give a shit!

I read yesterday that the entire morning show involved with this piece have been suspended indefinitely. They were also involved in another off-color show a couple of years ago.

Heh I was listening to KSJO when Perry Stone Made "Inappropriate remarks" to Some girl Scouts. They fined and fired him over that one and i dont believe he works in radio now. This is the Same station that had the DJ calling for people to open their doors in traffic to stop (Legal) Lane splitting of Motorcycles and Bicycles. (Yes the DJs were canned)

I saw that report on the DJ Tsunami song. I think she was absent the day they taugh "class" in class. There are always idiots who will make humour at other peoples pain. At least the radio station had the integrity to yank her. I wonder if she would feel the same if she went to indonesia and mets some families that lost all their children. She deserves to be out of radio any other forum where she can display and advertise her ignorance and insensitivity.

well, what do we expect with 40 years of assaults on morality from the left?

This didn't just happen.

..gays kissing on tv, profanity on the radio, the sexualization of kids...and on and on..

This crassness is just the result of getting what we ask for. But why the sudden and new found sensitivity regarding the tsunami?

Because a whole bunch of people died all at once, and it was sensational....that's why.

Had they died a 100/day , it would have taken 4.79 years. Would we be 'sensitive' for almost 5 years?...come on.

I'm not supporting the songs or the jokes at all. Quite the opposite. But I think it's hypocritical to pretend to be all flustered and moral at this late stage of the game.

The show's producer and one of the co-hosts have been fired, and the station is donating $1 million to the Tsunami Relief Fund.

THe other co-host and someone else have been suspended for 2 weeks, and their pay for that time is also being donated.

Yes they did hurt my feelings. BUT, I might recover with good therapist time and some meds.

There's a huge difference between classless, tasteless, talentless, racist S%@# and dark humor.

sorry you don't know the difference
