Default Glock G20 or Ruger SR9?

I am wondering if anybody has some feedback from using either of these for daily use and if so what do you think?

I do like the Ruger with the green handle though

you are kidding right?

i have had a concealed permit b4 back in the day and carried for years with no issues. I have not lived where that was possible for some time but that has now changed again so very cool. I used to have plenty of firearms and sold some and some have been in storage. One of my old friends used to work for Ruger so that made that easy

Glock, Ok

Ruger Issues Product Safety Warning and Recall Notice of SR9 Pistol
Ruger Issues Product Safety Warning and Recall Notice of SR9 Pistol

Author: Scott Freigh, Gun Reports Staff
April 16, 2008

April 9, 2008—Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. has recalled Ruger SR9 pistols manufactured between October 2007 and April 2008.
Problem: Under certain conditions, the pistols can fire if dropped with their manual safeties in the "off" or "fire" position and a round in the chamber. The pistols will not fire if the manual safety is in the "on" or "safe" position.

Alot of my friends swear by the Springfield XD, but I think my next gun will be the Berreta PX4 storm.

Quit screwing around and get a Les Baer Premier II.

However, if you leave it to the 2 options posted, I would go with a Glock
for reliability , ease of operation and accuracy. Why don't you look at
the G34 or G35. With minimal mods Like adjustable sights, an aftermarket barrel it can be very good!

There are so man choices that are more than adequate, so for what it is worth, I would hope you might consider buying American. I mean, it is not such a bad thing to support the US economy while at the same time getting good merchandise for the price, and in the case of handguns this is cetainly reasonable(we're not tallking bikes here)

Mark. Here's my .02 I carry a 27 daily. The first thing you want to do with and firearm is go handle it, and see how it fits in your hand. See if you can get to a range that rents and fire a few different guns. For daily use and personal protection I'd vote for either the glock, or a XD.

With your youngster you gotta think about saftey, the glock doesn't have one. I have a 5yr old and a 3 yearold. I don't carry a round chambered, but drill weekly drawing and chambering. The XD has 3 safteys. The thing that swings me to the glock is the total reliablity factor, my wifes G19 went through 3k+ rounds before being cleaned and never ever hic-uped. They have been tested to the extreme and come out fine. There's a lot of bs on the web about the glock kaboom, and its always with some ones sketchy reloads...if you shoot reloads, shoot your own. The glock, while it has improved doesn't totally support the case chambered and causes a slight buldge. I do reload several calibers, but will not reload for my glocks.

All that said, find one that fits your hand and is natural to shoot. I find that any thing I carry is some what of a trade of, size..comfort..caliber..etc. My 27 isn't the ideal weapon, but it fits well enough and I'm accurite enough with it to do the job.

Remeber you use your handgun to fight to your long gun.

Pm me if you have any specific questions, I'm no pro but I've weeded through some mistakes.

I carry a Kimber Compact CDP II daily, and have carried a 1911 style pistol for the past seven years. Either this one or my Springfiled V10 Ultra Compact. I prefer the 1911 style pistols myself. Rock solid reliability, never failed me.

Hey, did anyone see the news stories last week about the two accidental shootings? One guy killed his fiance as she walked the halls of their home. Shot her right in the chest - bang! They were going to get married the very next day. Gee, all that planning down the tubes. Wonder if he can get a refund...and a new fiance.

The other one I don't recall the details - just your run-of-the-mill BIG goof-up. Like, Charlton Heston BIG

I wondered how long till you chime'd in with your wisdom.... There's a 70 year old lady here that had to hooded young men kicking in her door 2 nights ago. She dropped one of them, the other is still on the loose...to bad she didn't have more bullets.

Did you hear about the auto accident the other day? Which one? Take your pick. They give drivers licenses out every day to people who have no business driving a shopping cart, much less a 2+ ton vehicle. Maybe we should ban automobiles.

A gun is a tool, nothing more. In the proper hands and with proper handling and education, it is no more dangerous than anything else.

No matter how much you wish to control someones behavior, YOU CANNOT LEGISLATE COMMON SENSE.
