That's corporate farming for you. That is also another reason why I don't like eating in those shitty fast food restaurants, not that I ever ate a KFC.
I have eaten KFC exactly two times in the past 10 years or so. Once for a reminder of how revolting their fried chicken is, and once to try their grilled chicken.

As for the treatment of animals, unless you raise or hunt your own you have little control over how they are treated while alive. OTOH most people can't live on Kobe beef and venison. I find from time-to-time that I will think about the slaughtering process and it grosses me out, I will go weeks without touching red meat, pork, or chicken.
Mistreating animals, even if their only purpose if for food, is immoral.

In 2008 Californians voted in an initiative that required chickens to not be kept in tiny pens - I think they are now required to be able to go outside. Anyway, the chicken farmers are up in arms, threatening to go elsewhere, etc. Coming out of this is a new innitiative that some are gathering signatures for. Check the link. It's yet another scheme to split the state. But this time it's the liberal part and the conservative part, for the most part. Funny thing is, I'm in the conservative part and Rocky is in the liberal part (the Cindy Sheehan part ). It'll never pass.

Among other issues is the fact that the Emerald Triangle (where the best weed in the world grows) is in the "conservative" part........That plan has a snowballs chance in hell of passing. I'd prefer we divide the state into "northern" and "southern" states. (that way we have the weed AND the water! and Laguna Seca, Infineon, Thunder Hill and Lodi Cycle Bowl!)

Are you recieving 80% more services? 80% better streets, schools ANYTHING? Time to downsize government, get rid of illegals (demand ID before ANY services are rendered, including school), and stop taxing the snot outa business and driving everyone out of state. Been here since a babe - 50 years. It's a racket. California needs a complete overhaul. I don't know the details enough to say exactly what needs to be done though. I'd probably start with the innitiative process, and then government pensions...,and of course, illegals. Then legalize weed. Better yet, kick everyone out who came here in the last 30 years .
