Default Wake up: just throwing this out there !

it seems it has gotten very quite on this forum, so I have this idea that may cause some controversy or just some raised eyebrows.
So here it goes,

I ride dual sport, race desert, race & street ride SuperMoto, & race & ride SportBikes. so I was staring @ my 89 Hawk the other day after cleaning it up (I was selling it), & then this Idea hit me .

Why not keep it & modify it to be like the Ducati's HyperMotard ????????

I can change the upper triple clamp out to a regular bar mount, & have it milled to run fatty MX bars.

re-build the front shocks for SM type of riding & tracks (asphalt only).

re-build or buy the rear shock, & make or find some different linkage for the rear suspension to get a 1" to 1.5" taller suspension (mod swing if have to, but hope not).

swap out the rear sub-frame for the racing one & mount a new rear cowling, seat, & under tail exhaust.

paint it it's stock bright red Honda color with factory insignias.

Mount up the Pirelli 120/70R17TL 58Vcorsa MT60F tyre in the front & the 160/60R17Tl 69V MT60RS Corsa Rear.

I think it will make a fun little DualSport/SuperMoto/Sport tourer to play on.

I know there was the transalp with the same, but 600cc motor(I used to own one), but I like the idea of the SSSA to make it stand out differently, & it will have 2 things different than the Duc's HyperMotard -
1st it's a reliable low maintenance Honda
2nd it is water cooled

Your thoughts, Flames, or ?

Do it do it to it!

I have a Hawk GT also, and spend many an hour staring into it's possibilities!! Then I'm yanked back into reality with limited $$

I think this is a great idea!

BTW are you in Utah county?? I may have come with some friends to see your bike and not even know it!!

Yup, that probably was me .

Aaah, your friends never called back

I sold one of my bikes in LA so my daughter could buy her truck, so I'm not selling it now.
