Default Turning the hawk into a naked bike

Has anyone attempted to remove the plastic from the Hawk? I am looking for some headlight and front turn signal options. The headlight is attached to the windshield and will not attach to the bike without the front piece. I could handle the windshield but need someway to attach it to the bike. I would rather not make a serious mod if it will hinder putting the side pieces on at some point in the future. I have a "98" hawk

I already have the side plastic off the bike and the windscreen is attached using zip ties and home made brackets running up the inside of the windshield to keep it stable. They attach to the mirror screws and the top hole in the windshield and that works very well. The general look is pretty awesome but looking for a better way to attach the unit to the bike. Rode from Central Ky to VIR this weekend and had a few comments on the bike and no one knew it was a hawk. The ride this weekend was 1000 miles plus (a real butt burner) and my biggest concern was it getting hot without the airflow directly to the radiators but it was all good.

I also am trying to figure out a way to route the exhast to under the seat. Does anyone know where I can maybe find a kit that will allow this or is it even gonna be possible?
