Wow dude, great thread. Great work on the bike. I don't think I've ever seen a hawk look that good... will be curious to see the end result.

The maggot cans are such an odd shape, I don't know whether or not they should go under the tail. It doesn't look bad, but just not sure where else they could go. Maybe 2" off the exhaust port on the heads? LOL

Mmm, maggots.

I think that will look fine depending on what tail you put on there. With a custom setup like yours, it wouldn't look right to have them in the stock location anyways. Maybe do both on one side close up to the foot peg or something? You can always mock it up and see if you like it.

Oh, and btw, those zip ties are going to melt, might want to get some brackets made up

Just a quick question... does there need to be any reinforcement in the CF so these don't buckle under pressure of throttle?

absolutely not,the material i am using is a stuctural grade.
very rigid and less flex than original material.
with a noticable weight loss to boot!

it came to me as a 12x12 in. sheet 1/8 in. thick

carbon fiber has a much higher tensile strength then aluminum or even steel fo the same weight or you can make it half as light and it will still be stronger

I like them there also.

may redesign exhaust plans.

not bad though, nothing is welded yet.

gonna work on completing carbs and harness this weekend.

my child support payments should end towards the end of the school year.

look for major progress after christmas this year.

should have radiator done around may, this includes mounts and plumbing.

i should have it running then,I will just have stuff like master cylinders, brake lines, bodywork and guages left to do.

hey mark, how about a set of red kevlar bst look alikes?

that would be killer, just dreaming of course.
may hit you up later for other things as i get closer to completion.
