Default Back from the grave 99

I'm a new member and just wanted to put my bike out there for you Superhawk enthusiast. To start.. i had been searching all over the place for a sporttwin not having much luck finding something decent for a good price. I have a friend that works at a local cycle shop that let me try out a stock superhawk around the lot and i thought it was nice but really wanted something more like an RC51 or the TL1000R, but didn't have any luck finding anything with a good price in nice shape. But my friend was keeping an eye for me on a good deal. One day in walks a guy and asked if he knew anybody that was looking for a 99 superhawk. Wouldn't ya know that was the deal i had been waiting for. He was asking a grand and explained it had been used as a race bike in Vegas but it had some fire damage. My first thought was damn this thing is gonna be junk, but decided to take a look anyway. So me and my friend meet up with him and start looking over this thing and it's kinda bad but it's fixable. The plastic over the left rad. is melted and charred, sending unit wires are melted, and it needs a helluva lot of TLC.

It had been sitting and not started in over a year, so there wasn't a chance we would hear her run, but we put some jumper cables on the starter to make sure it would turn over and have compression. And it did so that was one positive sign, and he guarateed it would run like a scoulded dog. Bless this idiots heart We offered him $800 for it and he said "hell i'll take $600", Can we all say WTF ?? Anyway we didn't argue the price since he just cut himself $200 short. We made the deal and loaded her up, at her worst looking probably ever, she was the best damn looking 99 superhawk i'd ever seen since i just loaded her up for $600.00... Folks let me tell ya, everyone that reads this post will probably be hatin on me after i say what this thing had on it for the price of $600.00 and it was truly the luckiest day of my life. I'll put a list of all the goodies at the end of my post. And don't get me wrong i did put a great deal more money into her and now this 99 is tight as hell, everbody that's seen, heard or ridden on it absolutely loves it. It took me more than a month of ordering parts, waiting on parts, late nights cleaning, painting, stripping, polishing, sanding & turning wrench to put her together, but damn it was all worth it. I don't know if i can get a pic of her on here or not but i'll try, please feel free to give me your comments, i'm personally proud of my work. Btw.. i don't know what the highest speed is that anybody seen on a SH but i've ridden this one to 160 mph and it was still pullin when i backed off due to traffic constraints.

List of goodies on her when i picked her up..

Goodridge stainless braided brake lines about $125.00 new
