Default grips

Im having problems with finding a good grip for my VTR. What does everyone have? My hands are going numb and hurt pretty bad after even 10 miles. Right now there is pro-grip waffle grips on it.
Thanks
Alicia

Default Possible Solution

I was having the same problem with my VTR and was thinking of going with bar risers to get a little weight off my hands. Found some foam slip-on grips on ebay called Grip Puppies. You use soap and water and wet the inside of the grip and just slip them on over your existing grips. Makes your grip fatter basically. Solved the problem for me and for less than $10. Hope this helps.

I use Pro Grip gel type grips and can ride for sometime before i ever have any numbing or pain in my hands. And the feel of the grip action is very good. Also are you using bar ends to help absorbe vibration from that big Vtwin ? They're almost a must to help with vibration in the bars. Hope this might help you, it sucks to have your hands hurting when you just wanna ride for awhile.

Default Grip Puppy Contact Info

Try this link http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?

Should take you right to the product page. Maybe I got them direct from this site, but could have sworn it was Ebay. They come in small and large....I ordered the small and they're perfect. NOTE: They look like they're too long out of the box but they're not....don't trim them before you put them on!

In case the link doesn't work the company info:
California Sport Touring Inc.
New Order Phone# (888) 799-5445

There you have it. I've had mine on since January and no complaints. Makes a big difference in comfort.

Excellent advise! Thanks! I would really like bar risers but they are expensive IMO. I am a tight ass. lol I went and got some of the Pro Grip Gels and I hope they help. I just have to get them on. I have the original bar ends. Should I get something else?

The gel grips may help you some i'm sure and as long as you have bar ends even though they're stock/OEM it will be about the best help you can get except for the risers, but like you said they aren't cheap. Only other suggestion is to try to slide more toward the tank at times and try to sit a little more upright to take the pressure off your hands and every chance you get at a stop light shift it in neutral and hold the back brake with your foot to give your hands a rest. I've only ridden a bone stock superhawk for a few minutes and i don't remember how the bars felt, but i bought my bike with aftermarket Heli clip on bars that clamp below the top triple trees that lean you even more forward on your hands and wrist, i take every chance i get to rest my hands while riding. It's mostly the anatomy of a sportbike that's got your hands hurting. Best of luck solving the problem.
